Gluing new footpockets on a Rapid?

So, my buddy has a Rapid with badly ripped footpockets. (the rubber has torn right where it meets the fin). He has since gotten a new fin (which has also broken, the poor guy) and we're wondering if one can glue new footpockets on a Rapid.

Would the ol' "Polyzap and zoomers" technique work, or is that only for custom Lexan? Anyone ever tried this before?

I want to know too, Ed. I took down my Wave from the top of the cupboard and discovered a small rip in the foot pocket.

I was wondering something of the same thing, how to in a way repair torn rubber. I recall a glue guide on a few of my cosplay forums.
