Shell Hunting

I am on vacation in New Jersey and was wondering how to find the best shells. I see how a lot of mermaids/mermen find shells and I would really like to find some.

Go early in the morning! That's when the tides are beginning to roll out and no one has picked over the shells yet.
Check the tide schedule for the area as well, and go when the tide is going out. It's an easy search on Google

However, not all beaches are good for shells. Search for beaches with tide pools or rocks.

Just remember that if its living, put it back

Even the smallest barnacle should stay in the sea! Good luck
