Thread: Dream places to swim

  1. #21
Vallee, that place looks positively MAGICAL!
I myself am very partial to oceans as opposed to lakes/rivers. I would love to swim in the Great Barrier Reef!
Or somewhere with humpback whales. Or whale sharks.

I love swimming in the springs in Florida!

The ultimate swim for me would be at the Great Barrier Reef. Not to mention, the trip to Australia itself.

I had the weirdest, yet coolest dream a couple nights ago. I was in a gazebo and then I jumped into the stream of water under the gazebo and turned into an H2O mermaid. The weirdest thing about this was that the whole thing took place in the parking lot of the target I used to go to when I lived in the U.S. Even though the water was really shallow, I was somehow swimming with a dolphin, and I could understand the dolphin really well. I think his name was Percy. Then, someone from my old school came by, and I tried to swim away so they wouldn't see me, but I couldn't seem to move, so the dolphin pulled me away.
And then, another time, I was walking on a beach with a LOT of shells, and then I tried to run into the water, but the ocean became further and further away every time I ran. I guess thats how much I miss the ocean and how far away it is from me. So, the first one I guess is my dream place to swim. But my conscious dream place to swim is Hawaii.

Have to do a new thread on cold water swimming (just like you suggested mermaidAndrea: swimming in Lake Ontario or Lake Huron or Lake Simcoe in winter) I'm sure it can be done, just like the mermaids of myth.

Here's why I think so- there was a scientist who went diving in the arctic with Beluga whales in winter with no wetsuit protection. The story is here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...es-arctic.html

She talks about it in this video

Now I'm getting more motivated to go in the Polar Bear Plunge this January!
