My daughter (Miranda) is now engaged to be married to a nice gentleman from Australia. They met online and have known each other now for about four years. About a year ago, they became interested in each other romantically. Several months back, he flew here for a two-week visit. My wife and I were favorably impressed. Even her little brother likes him.
Shortly after he returned home, he asked my permission to ask her for her hand. I said yes, but it's really up to her. When he returned to the States last weekend, he took her by surprise (I can keep a secret) and proposed at the airport. We have a video, which I'll post as soon as I can.
