yes
Awww! Thanks, Raina! ^_^ I wanted a fluke that was different than everybody else's. Plus, personally, I'm not a fan of that center dip. *shrugs* No idea why. Haha :-D Don't mind if others have it, but I don't want it. XD
Does anyone know how to contact Raven successfully? I'm waiting for my tail for five months now and messaged her a lot and I really want to know what's going on or get progress info or photos. I emailed her at info@merbellas.com and FB without success. Does she maybe another email address? What else can I do?

Well there's been all these group updates posted to fb I keep posting here that have been explaining various delays and that Tyler is doing the emails right now....
And yeah you should email merbellastudios@gmail.com
Many thanks, Raina, okay I will try on that email then...

156 days and counting. I'm getting all excited and.anxious!
I believe her new design is where just the fluke is neoprene lined? Not sure but either way she has a new basic design.
yeah new basic design hasnt been released yet
I don't know about the 'new new' basic design, but the most recent ones she's put out do have neoprene in the fluke as well. I'd say though, if she were to remove it from one part or the other, having the fluke silicone makes more sense to me, I think the body is generally bigger isn't it? And the neoprene in the fluke does cause some problems, it makes it very heavy when wet and it also makes it quite bulky.
ON a side note, I'd like to know if anyone has a merbella's performance tail with a foil monofin? I'm thinking about it for my eventual performance tail because looking at it, I kind of like the floppy look more. I've heard Raven has them in all of her tails? Any customers?
Well when you cast a fluke and make it one hunk of silicone like she does most of the silicone is in the fluke (and most of the weight too), plus the body is much more likely to wear out than the fluke is IMO, and non neoprene backed scales make the fit of the body much better. So all in all it does make more sense to make full silicone scales and partial silicone fluke.
I know Oceana and Ayla have foils in their performance tails. The foil ones are heavier and much harder to lift (in or out of the water, come to think of it I don't think I've seen Oceana ever lift hers over her head..) but they are nice and flowy.
yeah I think all of Raven's performance tails are foils, I don't think the competitor fits in the tank very well. She did some photos in mine both times she had it and said it was very big in the tank.
I don't know if her new basic tail design is the same as my hybrid one she made, but if it is,there is no neoprene in fluke, just by my ankles to keep my heels from showing, the inside is a mesh in the body tail of the portion. But I like it, because I'd be terrified of slicing through the full silicone body tails with no black mesh on the inside, and then the fluke is lighter as well. :-)

Argh! So many decisions! It would be nice to be able to try them out before buying. But I think I live a little far away haha.
Does this count? lol
Ayla was able to get hers above her head here, but I'd say for more insight to contact Raven since she's tried both monofins. I feel like the Oceanika, if you like that fluke, is kind of a middle ground between the two.

I think there's some confusion, i'll ask Raven. I thought the only tails made with neoprene in the fluke were the original basics and that was phased out. So the first basic tail they ever made, the green one that she was selling, she was explaining it has a neoprene and silicone fluke (part of why the monofin was so visible). I think maybe because she shared that people got confused?
side note: my mermaid creations tail inc is a finis foil with silicone. I can't lift it above my head, and it's extremely heavy. But the advantage is that it's super flowy. In all the photos you see where it's up, we've lifted it up just before the photo. So I think I'm the only one who can actually tell you what it's like to compare the competitor to the foil in silicone tails...? (not sure) and it really just depends what functionality you'r elooking for
Wow, really? Can't Ama get it up on her own? That's rough. =\
Do you feel the weight in the water? How does it affect your swimming? (i.e does it make it harder to swim or anything like that) If I did get it, I'd want to primarily just use it for recreational swimming in pools or ocean and maybe gigs at a much later date. I just like the look of the flowy-ness a lot more, but if it's going to be too heavy for me then I'd have to rethink it.
