The promoting theft of art ???

So this person on Facebook appears to be promoting theft of art by trying to get people to buy tails from other country’s that clearly rip off big name tail Makers! And I’m
Just wondering how can I explain to this person how this is wrong and why it’s wrong when all she comes back with is well it’s legal here and other country’s and it happens in the fashion industry and purse industry to! This blows my mind that someone is ok with this!

Well, some people can't be convinced that art theft is wrong. Or they know it's wrong but they don't care because they think being able to buy the thing is more important than the original artist getting paid for it. It sounds like she heard the arguments but doesn't care.

Also, LOL at her saying that other mers don't have "guts" for not wanting to do it.

Some people mind are made up before they even talk. Having seen the thread, this appears to be one of those instances. The reality of her reviews is the wrong people will see it and think “I could actually use this as a practice tail” and careless what the reviewer actual intent. I see it as she going to unintentionally hurt her cause.

Somerines people are too stupid to argue with. Thos chick-poo here has made up her mind that because its legally possible "aa a reproduction" then its morrally A-OK to buy these tails. And also has a twisted victimized view of fabric version of silicone tails. Her whole mindset really just makes me want to stick my head in an oven.
Here's her video if anyone wants to scream at their screen for about 20 minutes:

What really salts me about it is that there are nice-looking, low cost fabric tails you can get. I can't imagine that these knockoffs are that much cheaper. Is she one of those people who has like, a complex over the fact that tails can be expensive and thinks that justifies buying stolen designs?

She doesn’t see it as stolen design. She had the whole trademark/copyright image conversation on there. It borderline reminds me of the real and fake Pokémon card debate. She can expect to be excluded because the lack of quality and not fair to everyone.

I saw that too and I am sure you saw my comments on it. She can't be reasoned with and IMO just black listed herself in the community. She has zero understanding of how copyright works in this instance or internationally, but her favourite reply is "learn the law" lol.

Yikes. I couldn't even make it through the whole video. She's .... not in the right mindset, really about any of what she's doing.

This is such a big yikes! She completely disregards (or just fails to realise) that the prices tailmakers set on their products aren't just for the materials, it's also for the years of experience the tailmaker has accumulated, the money they have invested getting the right tools to make them, the (probably many) years of practice involved in honing the skills of making an actual design from scratch, the knowledge of which materials to use to get specific end results, and the ability to put all of that together.

THAT'S what you're paying for! Anyone with half a sense of a sewing can sew a plain tailskin, but it takes a lot of skill to make a stunning design, then taking that 2d design and turning it into a silicone tail or fabric tailskin.

For my part it's the complete and selfish disregard for small entrepreneurs who have gone through the daunting process of starting their own business, and that they both need and deserve to have a living wage from their craft.

I loathe art thieves. Kraken take them all!

Her concept of “learn the law” made me laugh. Even defending one self in court costs a lot of money. The winner loses money fighting false claims because of legal fees and lawyer fees. She can play Robin Hood. Even though Robin Hood intentions were good, Robin Hood is still a thief.
