That's probably exactly why she posted what she did. I bet you she feels very self conscious and is teased herself, and is confused to see someone who looks like she has a real, non-photoshopped magazine body (because she certainly is NOT a fat mer, and so what if she was?) and is confused about how to react. She might even want to be a mermaid but feels too self-conscious about herself, and now is seeing someone she might feel she could relate to more doing what she wants to do. She's obviously young, and while what she wrote was pretty stupid sounding, no afence to her (hehehe), I'm guessing that underlying all the insults is a deep and sincere compliment and admiration.

I understand what you're saying, but I think if you want to make contact, yet first grief or insult someone, it makes you an ass. No matter the age.

I see that all the time in games (or in reality); people who spot me, stop, come up to me, start harassing/griefing me, and when I don't react in the slightest (what I usually do), after a few minutes of harassing or being stupid in my face, they suddenly do things like:
wave, smile, saying hello, etc.

Now, if they had done it the other way around, I would wave/smile/say hello back.
But start off with stupidity, and you don't deserve it.
