    Hello from Ireland!

Heya! I'm in Iteland for school for the next 5 months, and will hopefully have my tail by the end of march! I'm hopefully going to be traveling around the country a lot, as well as to other places in Europe. Any suggestions for where to visit (as a mermaid or otherwise!)? I am hopefully going to get to some cool places in Switzerland, but I have no idea really what swimming is like around her (besides COLD).

I'm from Leicester England, and there is no where here really apart from places with beaches, Cornwall is absolutely beautiful especially landsend and penzance (famous for its pirates and its merlin attractions) and the water is clear in the summer. I'm planning to go there. I'm also getting a new tail but being made with a specialfx i know so excited and i will be going to cornwall to try it once its completed!

Pebbles is right the most beautiful beaches in the UK are all on the west coast down by Cornwall and Devon Wales has some lovely ones to but yes it will be pretty freezing! If you want somewhere warm to go swimming I suggest the Spain or Italy though Spanish beaches will be packed come the summer so as long as you don't mind too much attention you should be fine.

I'm in Kent, England and the beaches here suck! they all have pebbles or sand which isn't natural and the water is all brown and disgusting

Thanks for the tips, everyone I am far too afraid of the cold to think about attempting swimming right now... maybe once it's not 30 degrees out I'll consider it more

At the very least I'll be heading around europe at some point, might be fun to take the tail along for pics even if I'm not brave enough for the water ^^

    Hello from Ireland!

I live on the Wirral so I used to go swimming in the Irish Sea in the summer! It's not too cold it just takes a little getting used to!

In south of France, water is not too cold. It can even be warm during summer.

    Are you still in Ireland?

I'm living in Ireland. I haven't tail and monofin yet. But I'm in the sea swimming, mainly because at the east coast the underwater visibility are on holiday most of the days. It worthy get into this freezing water to see the underwater treasure. People doesn't know that whales, humpback whales! and orcas are regular visitors here. There're lots of seals in everywhere. They come close to swimmers and divers, even the poppies! There're also dolphin families living regularly in certain places.

Irish like lots the outdoors dips all year around. That's mean if you see water, there's a bath point near.

With regard water temperature, this year is MUCH MORE colder than it should be so you have the best excuse ever

Hey MerMar! I am indeed still in Ireland! You say you're on the East coast? I'm in Galway, but I've taken trips to many places around (went to Blarney on Monday--it was so gorgeous!!).

And yeah, I hadn't realized before it was such a marine hotspot!! I saw seals a few weeks ago when I went out to the Aran Islands, they were adorable. I haven't seen any whales, though I wish I could.

Typically this year is extra cold... -_- Oh well.

I may not get to take mermaid pictures anyway--I have my tail skin, but I'm having a really hard time finding a monofin I could get without great cost

That’s really great you still here. And yepa, I’m stuck in Dublin. I’m sitting a professional examination in mid May but I won’t be studying the whole time. I’ll love to meet you to chat and see your tail skin. Send me a private message for meeting details. I have a pair of fins that might be good enough for dry photos.

My monofin are right now out of stock until mid June with shipping will be around €65. They’ve in stock the same in other colours and for less. You’d have them in a week and if you keep the invoice you can claim back the tax at the airport when you flight back to the States. Actually you might get your monofins by “free” if you have kept enough valid invoices.

The whales are more common at the south and south-west but can turned up anywhere. There’re a couple of business that take people for whale watching, google it. Seals water encounter is an experience. Sometimes I feel they’re like dogs waiting you throw something to bring it back to you.
