I keep trying and it keeps not working. I think I need to invest in a torso form to help the bra hold its shape while I attach the silicone. Otherwise things... warp. Warpy boobs = unhappy boobs, and nobody wants unhappy boobs.

The tails are sturdy there's no mesh in it that I've seen. Unless im wrong :P

I do use powermesh in the scale sheets to give everything some sturdiness. Seaglass probably doesn't see hers because I used white powermesh in her tail (blends in with the silicone), but I'll also use nude or black depending on the color scheme of the tail.

Thank you all for the support. It's hard to see something in your head and then be brave enough to share. I'm over awed occasionally by everyone's talent. Im just lucky lily is so fantastic. When I saw her phoebe fluke I just knew.

Design inspirations were I wanted something wild and mysterious so I combined some snake and eel designs with my two favorite colors (green and blue :) ) I fear I went through a lot of paper trying to find a combo I was happy with.

Yeah! I decided to go with Lily's Phoebe fluke for my first tail! I couldn't really afford a custom fluke, but I'm more than happy with her Phoebe fluke for a more fishy feel that's still perfectly elegant and gorgeous!! I'm still saving the other design and hope to have it for the future! :)

it seriously is, and it has this tree that is low but hangs over the water (if you look at the bottom left pic you'll see my bf playing his banjo on it), and water is shallow but deep enough to get great mermaid in water poses and group shots! But I'm down for a NorCal Trip and photoshoot there as well!

Lotus: I don't know where you are in Texas but my aunt lives in Texas and flies on spirit to and from ca frequently and sometimes her round trip tickets are only $100. Maybe something to look into. :) cuz 19 hrs in a car is sooooo long.

^^This!! There are some pretty great waterproof casings on Amazon designed to let you use your phone underwater. It's been a while since I was browsing them but the ones I found had pretty positive reviews and were really cheap! It's definitely worth looking into and I'm planning to find one for my phone eventually. <3

^^ This is the case I used for shooting my video on my S3. Works pretty well, but it doesn't always want to let you push the button while you're underwater. So you start filming above water and then move the phone under the surface to shoot. Kind of annoying but waaaay cheaper than buying an underwater camera!

Once everyone agrees on a time, I will start getting things together, since a lot of us live in Cali, that would save money on hotels, unless people wanted to go halfsies on a room then I will look for the best deals there, I will get us a photographer so we have some pro photos taken! Okay so I've told myself that if I can knock off $3k from my wedding budget (so I have $3k lying around that I planned to use for the wedding but didn't) I'm going to put that towards buying myself a syren studios tail! Now I have a lot more motivation to DIY the heck out of my wedding! (and cut the guest list haha)
