Lorelei

This is probably going to be a long post so please forgive me and if you do happen to read it all, thank you in advance! :)
I've been on this site for a long while, but haven't been on much to post as there was a lot of personal stresses going on in my life. Recently, I lost one of the most important people to me, my Nanny (she's my blood grandma, but she hated that name and said it was too old for her, so she'd been called Nanny since my older sister was born). She might as well had been my second mom, we spent more time together growing up than even me and my own parents sometimes as she was the one that would go to L.A. with me for my auditions and other acting roles.
She was one of the few people that was really supportive of my weird dreams and called me her "Little Mermaid" or "Little Lorelei". When she passed, a piece of me died as well and I fell into a lot of depression, which didn't mix well with my anxiety and it's taken a lot of counseling and good friends and family to get me back on my feet.
It's been hard, but one of the biggest things my nanny wanted me to do was to follow my dream of being a mermaid. Before she passed, she was helping me save money to get my first silicone tail. Now that she's gone I want to finish that goal more than anything and I hope to have a silicone tail by this year (I'm saving so hard for it) and I would love to attend more events. I've been into mermaids since I was a toddler and got my first tail at the age of 11 (which tore apart after I swam two miles in it @-@), my second tail a friend made for me and the third one was a magictail tail.
My mermaiding has brought me closer to quite a few amazing people. Mermaid July and I are currently working on writing a mermaid book and we hope to turn it into a film in the far future. You'll see the both of us swimming at Merfest 2015. :)
I'm hoping to be on here and posting a lot more and would love to make some new friends (although I can be very awkward and antisocial >< so I apologize ahead of time).
Apart from mermaiding, I love archery, anime (and cosplaying), my wonderful pets (3 rats and one cat), and acting. I'm almost 21 and was born and raised in Northern California, but have moved to Moscow, Idaho for school, so I travel back and forth often. I also have my mertender, who is my boyfriend of nearly 4 years, who you will probably see by my side often when I attend merfolk events.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone better this time around. :) Sorry this was such a long post. ><
