Hello fellow merfolk!
I apologize, I normally don't make these sort of posts, but I felt like I needed to help somehow so I'm trying to spread the word where I can.
A good friend of mine, someone who's practically my sister, Veronica (Vero) has been fighting a roller coaster of a battle with cancer since she was about 22 years old (3 years ago). After she was diagnosed, she fought for a long time until doctors said she was officially clean, only to have it come back again a short time later. This past summer she was told she was cancer-free again.
Everyone was so overjoyed and we all celebrated. Her body started to get back into it's normal functions, her hair started growing back and she was starting to get a normal life back.
This month, the worst happened and she was diagnosed yet again. This will be her third time fighting...
Through all of the treatments though, I have hardly ever seen Vero let it break her spirit. She is always smiling and trying to face the worst of situations with the most positive attitude. She cares about everyone so much while still trying to find confidence in her own self. I admire her so much and she is so strong, I have no doubt she will be able to pull through yet again (this time for good hopefully).
Unfortunately, some of you know first hand how expensive cancer treatments are and especially since this one is the third one, it has left her family drained on cash for treatments. I live with her brother, who I also consider to be my soul brother (my onii-chan) and it has also been an emotional roller coaster for him, especially with living nearly 1,000 miles away from her.
Her parents are some of the kindest and most hardworking I have ever met and I promise I'm not just saying that. From the first day I met their family, even though my anxiety made me too nervous to practically talk, they openly welcomed me and treated me like part of the family. There is a rare type of love and acceptance that radiates through their home and it's something that is very hard to come by now-a-days. I love every one of them with all my heart.
I know how strapped on cash everyone is, (especially us merfolk and our expensive hobbies ;)), but if any of you have even just $5 to spare, it would help out a lot!
If you cannot donate, that's perfectly fine too. All I ask is that you please try to send good thoughts and prayers to her and her family. <3
Thank Q all for listening! I appreciate it so much and I'm sorry to anyone else on here who is dealing firsthand with the frustration of cancer  (my uncle was just diagnosed this month as well).

Thanks again everyone. It really does mean a lot.
