I'm surprised the tops in Raven's Etsy have been there so long. They've been there at least a month now and yet every other time she adds stuff it's GONE immediately.

I got a letter from my local custom office yesterday. They still have my tail and now I have to pick it up myself next week in Vienna (which is a 3 hours drive away). :crazy:
They also want to see the invoice and the acknowledgment of payment. The problem is that Tyler wrote as contents gift and a Value of 100 $.
So this tail is not a gift and it’s worth more than 100 $, I hope that Tyler or I don’t get any problems because of that.

your country customs will have a minimal $ that can be bought into your country eg 50.00 if an item is marked higher than what a gift is supposed to be then customs can hold it. now a few reasons why they are asking you to show your invoice is because its most likely that they suspect that the item in question is worth more than what has been marked for total value. which in this case its probably going to fall under merchandise which may incur additional charges, meaning you will have to pay custom fees in order for them to release it, however if this was the case it should state this in your letter you received. take your invoice with you as they have requested it. to answer you question yes, it can fall under a false declaration of the shipper.However if the sender was told to mark it 100.00 then this isn't a false declaration as the sender is only doing what they were told by the customer. Im going to state here, that if you need to pay additional fees you usually only get a certain amount of time to pay them, other wise it gets shipped back to the sender. I don't want you to freak out all of these things mentioned above are things that all customs look into. to all international customers that are purchasing from overseas, ensure to get in contact with your countries customs first, ask them what the total value of a gift is or merchandise or other. ask them what is the total value of contents including shipping that can be bought into my country BEFORE it incurs additional charges. eg the USA is 1,000.00 before you have to pay custom duty. the same with Australia. this is why customs takes longer to process parcels because if its marked gift and it succeeds the gift value for your country, customs will hold it and ask questions.
They probably did that so you wouldn't get stuck with all the fees. (or they were sending out a bunch of smaller things and just got in the habit) All that will happen is that customs will insist you pay all the fees. If you paid for a 3000$ then the fees can be anywhere from 50$-300$ depending on your custom laws. Here in Canada I have to pay 300$. You can find out online.Quote:

I'd just go and tell them it was a misunderstanding and you'll be happy to pay the normal fees. But have a credit card or some sort of back up incase the fees are more than you're prepared for.
International tail ordering sucks because we get slammed with all these fees!

About 7 hours ago and bare in mind I waited a month for those sketches. You know how busy Raven always is and how frequently they respond. We just have to be patient and give them time.

Wow, it's amazing, I love Raven's Angler fluke and you look great swimming! Quick question - did you have the monofin upgrade or is the Angler just a little less flowy than some of the other flukes? Sorry to ask this, it's just I'm considering an Angler if/when I order from Raven, but I have a thing for flowy flukes so it might influence my decision slightly
