"I have a policy that if people do not want insured shipping but standard shipping i am not responsible for damages." If it was damaged in the box, but the box was not damaged, it still counts as damaged in shipping.
She sounds like a total pain in the ass. You could:
A: refund the price of the bird and let her figure it out;
B: Tell her to glue it on with plain old white glue (PVA, school glue, Elmer's, it's all the same thing). NOT super glue or rubber cement, they have solvents that will eat the styrofoam;
C: Tell her to ship it back and you'll fix it...with 50/50 shipping. She pays to ship it to you, you pay to ship it back, on the understanding that she does not leave you a negative review.
D: Tell her to bite you, she didn't want to insure it, so if it got broken on its way to her, it's not your problem. Take the hit and live with the (potential) bad review. It's truly not the end of the world.
I got a less than good review from someone here on Mernetwork for an item that turned out darker than I'd pictured it! She was right, I didn't say it might not come out exactly as I photographed it. I was upset...for a minute. And guess what? We are still friends! :D
Good luck!
I have looked into living on a boat, as living space here is insanely expensive.
Turns out a boat would be even MORE costly due to difficult water + electricity access, it would be horribly cold as heating is a problem, and on top you have to pay a fortune simply for your boat to be allowed to anchor anywhere.
:(
Oh yea, I also checked all lighthouses here, and jobs for lighthouse watcher.
There are none left, the houses operate fully automatic now and are closed down.
If you go to GSA Auctions and navigate to Real Estate then Lighthouse, you will find six lighthouses currently for sale. Granted most have lead paint and asbestos, remain active aids to navigation and thus have automated fog signals that would damage the human ear, have restrictive historical covenants that have to be followed, and some may only be purchased by a non-profit.
I tried to buy one, years ago... long story, there.
I want to see the kitties! I have Norwegian elkhounds lol. and I'm hoping in the future I'll find a place that isn't expensive as hell, definitely not in California but somewhere.
Thank you PearlieMae!
I wrote to the woman last night offering her the glue and she accepted it.
Offering the glue would be the cheapest solutions since the shipping is only €1.38.
The way she wrote to me showed what a pain in the ass she was and that she was trying to get something for free.
This is the first and last time i will do it though.
It just so happened to come at th worst time when i'm under so much stress from the house being sold and just wanted her and her problem go away.
I went to you Etsy shop to read the review and if it is the 1 star review then i agree with your answer, that 1 star was very harsh and unfair.
Great to hear that you are still friends though! :-)
I'm so sorry to hear that Echidna! :-(
have you tried looking into a really old crappy house, like a fixer upper so to speak.
A house you can buy for dirt cheap and fix up yourself over time?
How about land? Is that expensive to buy? Just the land without a house on it, cause then you have the option of building a house on it yourself.
I know what you mean. The world is changing and it is scary!
Not only the temperatures are changing, the weather etc....also nature is changing rapidly and not for the better.
When i see photos of people at the beach and leaving their trash behind when they go home, the trash then getting into the ocean it pisses me off.
And it is not only at the beach.
Here in the Netherlands the government had commercials on tv about how we, the people, should not have any more lights on in our house then neccessary. So no more garden lights to create atmosphere etc because it is wastefull. Funny thing is though when you drive on the highway or anywhere at night the big industrial companies and big companies next to the road have all the huge lamps on all night long all over the place. We do not hear anyone telling them to shut those down at night.
We are getting more and more windmills to get green energy.
I believe that in Denmark 25% from the electricity is coming from windmills which is great.
I still have hope for a better future though!
There is always hope!
Hahaha! Actually that review was recent, from an Etsy newbie who made me crazy with emails! It was an unfair review, and I gave her a chance to take a refund, or as Etsy says "kiss and make up", but she blew me off.
I've already moved on. :D
You've got enough stress to deal with.I'm glad you found a solution that didn't make you nuts! Good luck!
To any of you with an Etsy account, I've got a problem. I ordered a mermaid crown from a certain seller who I will not disclose other than over PM until this is solved, but it's been over a month and it still hasn't been shipped nor have I been given so much as a picture update, despite many promises that it is "just about finished, and I should expect a picture within a day or two".
I opened an Etsy case, and today she closed it and told Etsy that I was given a refund through Paypal, but that didn't happen and she sent me another message saying that she is almost done with it (yet again) and that I should expect pictures in a day or two (yet again). Obviously summer is mermaid season and at this point I would prefer a refund since this has turned into such a headache, I know she's lying, and I'm sick of waiting. But does anyone experienced with selling on Etsy know what I can do about her closing the case and lying about giving me a refund? :/

You should be able to open a case through PayPal itself to get a refund, but if all else fails, contact your bank and tell them you want to initiate a chargeback due to non-receipt of item.
smiles can't tell the difference between worms and fingers. back to square one, ugh.
Oh HEEEELLLLL no. That is fraudulent as hell and I would report that to Etsy PRONTO. If you have notes from her admitting that she lied and didn't refund you, screencap and send them in along with your report (if you can include links to the notes themselves, do that too; admins can access them in cases like these). Do NOT let her get away with it, and if you're still within PayPal's protection window, file a charge back IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise, go to your bank and explain the situation, and they can help you get your money back from there.
File the chargebacks, tell her you're not backing down until you get ABSOLUTE PROOF that damn crown is done. No more stringing you along— "Pics now, or GTFO!"
^ what tieri says.
bitch better have yo money!!!
This is a direct copy paste from my facebook.
Guys, let's stop trying to undermine important issues with other issues that are probably as important.
One is not worse than the other, one should not be given more attention than the other. If you care about an issue that's great. But don't be like "uhhh what about this?? Pay attention to this!!"
So i have 3 Etsy shops now.
1 Of the shops has more antique and vintage home and garden items.
My first sale on there was to a woman in China.
She sent me an email prior to ordering to ask how long delivery would take and i told her.
I also let her know that every order is shipped out with standard shipping which is the cheapest method for our customers.
That means there is no tracking number. But we do make photos at the post office when they put the official stamps on it and send these photos to our customers to show proof that their order has been shipped out.
I told this woman that shipping is normally with standard shipping, so no tracking number but if she wanted a tracking number i could change the shipping costs in Etsy fr her (it is €6.30 extra to get a tracking number. The Dutch Postal Services are very expensive with international shipping) and her reply was literally : "no thanks !!haha"
So we shipped it out as a standard package without a tracking number.
We shipped it out on June 5th and she has not received it and off course her first email to us was:" Can you give me the tracking number please."
I was like.... what the h..... she did not want a tracking number and now she is asking for one?
So i explained to her that she did not want a tracking number therefor there is none.
Anyway, she has emailed me a couple of times after that telling me it still did not arrive.
So i told her to contact customs in her country to ask if they are holding on to it for some reason.
She has photos of what the package looks like and the information on top of it so she can simply send that to customs to make it easier.
She wrote to me again today since she says she does not know how to contact customs and she really did not receive anything yet.
So i explained to her agaih how she can contact customs, 1 by contacting your postal service in your country and asking them how to contact them, and 2 by looking on google.
I have already contacted the Dutch Postal Service to ask if there were any delays to China and gave them her adress and they said there were no delays as far as they know but since there is no tracking number they can't help any further.
I understand it is upsetting not to have a tracking number but she said she did not want one since it costs extra.
The reason we ship everything with standard mail, is because it is a lot cheaper than with a tracking number and normally everything arrives.
This is the first time ever that someone has not received something.
If we start listing our items as shipping with a tracking number i believe our sales will start dropping because it is so much more expensive.
And i have the information on our Etsy shop on different places (even at our "welcome" message. So i believe we have done everything right here.
It annoys me though that she said:"no thanks !!haha" and now starts complaining and being upset. :catfight:
At work today the rest of the lifeguards and managers started playing musical chairs. Its where they run around taking each others chairs and whoever is not in a chair when the pool closes loses. And of course people are still swimming while the guards are doing this. I absolutely hate it and refused to play. What would you think if you saw the lifeguards who should prepared to rescue your kid if they drown start playing this game?
That's very unprofessional and potentially dangerous.
I know if I say something this is going to be a response and when I asked a parent about what she thought she gave the same answer..."they are just blowing off steam and its fine...theres only 6 people in the water" (we always have 12 on deck and 4 are suppose to be on break in the guard room incase of an emergency).
Barbecue Jesus Truck.
First time I saw the truck with the jesus covered in flames and the whole 'homosexuality/sex/basic science/etc is sinful and you're gonna burn' schtik, I thought it was a barbecue food truck. I legitimately believed it was a barbecue truck
I was like 'Look honey, BARBECUE!' and then I noticed the jesus on it and was like, 'well ok, maybe they're a mission being cool and feeding homeless people and stuff and being y'now cool human beings to each other'. I also may have been hungry. Hunger was a factor.
But no, it was just some assholes driving around in a creepy truck with a tortured dead guy burning alive on it threatening others to worship him or face death and torture. Totally makes me want to know more about your religion guys, way to go.
Anyway then my brain immediately supplied me with this label: Barbecue Jesus Truck.
And now everytime I see that truck I point and yell 'Barbecue Jesus Truck!' and get a hankering for barbecue.
.
TL:DR: Invest in a marketer so you don't end up as the Barbecue Jesus Truck. If you really want to draw people to your banner, don't treat them like shit by telling them they're a bad person and they're going to suffer because you don't agree with their lifestyle.
It just makes me want to walk by you flipping you the bird on my way to a barbacue joint owned by LGBTQ people.

Ugh, I hope someone makes him paint over it. Maybe something along the lines of "Jesus said love." :) <3
At this point it's a running joke where we live; and they can only hang out in certain businesses cause they learned if they were in the parking lot people boycotted the business. It's sad cause thay could be doing so much good, and instead they just decide to spew viritrol. Such a waste.

I find it surprising, ridiculous, and sad that a parent felt that way. I would be really upset! Six people in the water is six opportunities for an accident to occur and your co-workers would have been delayed in their response because they weren't doing their jobs… I'm glad that you, a responsible adult, are around to make sure the pool is safe.
Lotus, your kind heart will reach FAR MANY MORE people than a disgraceful image like that painted on the side of a van. I somehow doubt that Jesus would be proud of that. More likely he would be sad/angry of the image that it projects of him towards others.
Apparently I heard from one of my friends that they have a Barbecue Jesus Hummer too. At this point they're kinda just a running joke. :: shrugs ::
And Lotus that soapbox rant wasn't directed in any way towards you or any other of the awesome Christians; I <3 you guys! It's more because since the aweful shooting in Chattanooga,Tn and the WBC coming and just being horrid in general, they tend to rile up others like them and it's frustrating that someone can be so callous to another person.

Does anyone have a person in their life that just... whenever they talk, it just grates on you? Sadly, my husband's best friend is that person for me. x-x
And he lives with us...
He's one of those people that always feels he's right no matter what, and he's not a naturally selfless person. He's a naturally selfish person. He's also manipulated us into allowing him to stay for half the price that we agreed upon. He moved his stuff into our new house literally before we did. Originally, he wasn't even going to pay us more than $20/mo apparently, even though he has a great job and is capable of paying the appropriate amount. (He's said this himself). Because he moved in and pretended he didn't hear me say that it's $200/mo the three different times that I said this. Lunette witnessed one of those three times. My husband doesn't even believe that he manipulated us, because he trusts him. But I confronted him about it (nicely) and I know that he's guilty of manipulation from how he flipped out on me. I assumed he was innocent, too. I really wanted to believe he was...
Anyway, so I just can't wait for October when he moves out. I just can't stand him and trying to be nice to him so that he doesn't ask me if there's something bothering me and I want to shout at him, "It's you! You're what's bothering me!" Sigh... :(
Oh, Lotus. Good luck with that parasitic piece of... urg! That sounds like a really annoying and hurtful situation.
I just saw this! Thank you so much! Yes, I agree. I believe that messages like that can be likened to something the Pharisees would say, spreading hate and division instead of grace and love, and those were the people Jesus was angry with in Scripture so... :1
And thanks, Cheshire! I knew you wouldn't aim anything at anyone! Don't worry!!! I agree. I don't understand how people can be so inhumane toward others. I know not everyone understands how to empathize with others completely, but only sociopaths can't do it at all. x-x
Celaeno and Sabriba, you're so sweet. I really want to kick him out, but he's been my husband's friend for years and he still considers himself my friend, though I don't know if that's even true anymore. As Lunette stated, she was the one who noticed it based on what I described to her from the situation. I felt so stupid and I hate to admit it, but I had to keep from crying in the middle of Wall-Mart when she made me realize it sounds like he manipulated us. (We were buying pins for the tail). (╯︵╰,) I'm so thankful she did, though! It occurred to me that it was possible, I've seen him sort of manipulate others on a smaller scale. But for him to manipulate US, his friends, seemed extremely unlikely. I thought he respected us more than that. But he's a narcissist through and through. And that much I did know, but because he's never been cruel to us and had always actually seemed to care, I thought he at least had a "heart of gold." But no... So now, I just avoid him. He already got in my nerves before but I thought it was just me being impatient with his personality. Every time I talk to him, he mansplains to me how his opinion is right and mine is wrong. X-x; it's very irritating... But oh well. At least my friend Jaz is moving in and she knows about the situation and is very sweet and protective of me so hopefully, that will help!!
ヽ(´ー`)┌
i mean, the situation happened because you are a good trusting person whom wants to assume and believe that everyone is decent, which is a good quality! but unfortunately some people just aren't very decent. at least you are aware of the situation now so you can be knowledge. silver lining?
also, yay! jazz!
