Then she said it was there in the box and how upset she was it got damaged.
She said that the box was perfect so it was not the shipping companies fault.
All it takes is half a drop of glue to fix it....
To glue or not to glue, that is my question....
"I have a policy that if people do not want insured shipping but standard shipping i am not responsible for damages." If it was damaged in the box, but the box was not damaged, it still counts as damaged in shipping.

She sounds like a total pain in the ass. You could:

    A: refund the price of the bird and let her figure it out;

    B: Tell her to glue it on with plain old white glue (PVA, school glue, Elmer's, it's all the same thing). NOT super glue or rubber cement, they have solvents that will eat the styrofoam;

C: Tell her to ship it back and you'll fix it...with 50/50 shipping. She pays to ship it to you, you pay to ship it back, on the understanding that she does not leave you a negative review.

D: Tell her to bite you, she didn't want to insure it, so if it got broken on its way to her, it's not your problem. Take the hit and live with the (potential) bad review. It's truly not the end of the world.

I got a less than good review from someone here on Mernetwork for an item that turned out darker than I'd pictured it! She was right, I didn't say it might not come out exactly as I photographed it. I was upset...for a minute. And guess what? We are still friends!

    Good luck!

I have looked into living on a boat, as living space here is insanely expensive.

Turns out a boat would be even MORE costly due to difficult water + electricity access, it would be horribly cold as heating is a problem, and on top you have to pay a fortune simply for your boat to be allowed to anchor anywhere.

Oh yea, I also checked all lighthouses here, and jobs for lighthouse watcher.
There are none left, the houses operate fully automatic now and are closed down.

If you go to GSA Auctions and navigate to Real Estate then Lighthouse, you will find six lighthouses currently for sale. Granted most have lead paint and asbestos, remain active aids to navigation and thus have automated fog signals that would damage the human ear, have restrictive historical covenants that have to be followed, and some may only be purchased by a non-profit.

I tried to buy one, years ago... long story, there.

that would be a big no-no.

Better to invest in a tiny island.
You know I'd be totally up for a joint venture with that.

Even though my cats would probably divorce me. They are norwegian forest breeds.

I want to see the kitties! I have Norwegian elkhounds lol. and I'm hoping in the future I'll find a place that isn't expensive as hell, definitely not in California but somewhere.

    Thank you PearlieMae!
I wrote to the woman last night offering her the glue and she accepted it.
Offering the glue would be the cheapest solutions since the shipping is only €1.38.
The way she wrote to me showed what a pain in the ass she was and that she was trying to get something for free.
This is the first and last time i will do it though.
It just so happened to come at th worst time when i'm under so much stress from the house being sold and just wanted her and her problem go away.
I went to you Etsy shop to read the review and if it is the 1 star review then i agree with your answer, that 1 star was very harsh and unfair.
Great to hear that you are still friends though! :-)

I'm so sorry to hear that Echidna! :-(
have you tried looking into a really old crappy house, like a fixer upper so to speak.
A house you can buy for dirt cheap and fix up yourself over time?
How about land? Is that expensive to buy? Just the land without a house on it, cause then you have the option of building a house on it yourself.

So imagine how I feel reading about all this global warming/climate change horror that basically says not only is my city going to be underwater within the century, but that our local government isn't doing anything to actually find a solution for it. So basically, from what I read, they are denying that its a problem despite the evidence and findings and we, as citizens, are basically just waiting around for sudden watery death.
My mother just causally showed me something uploaded from her facebook friend, who lives in a more northen part of FL, where its been raining for 23 days and its FLOODED. I cannot even. What the hell, America? Idk how I eil sleep at night with all this on my mind.
    Life is scary.
I know what you mean. The world is changing and it is scary!
Not only the temperatures are changing, the weather etc....also nature is changing rapidly and not for the better.
When i see photos of people at the beach and leaving their trash behind when they go home, the trash then getting into the ocean it pisses me off.
And it is not only at the beach.
Here in the Netherlands the government had commercials on tv about how we, the people, should not have any more lights on in our house then neccessary. So no more garden lights to create atmosphere etc because it is wastefull. Funny thing is though when you drive on the highway or anywhere at night the big industrial companies and big companies next to the road have all the huge lamps on all night long all over the place. We do not hear anyone telling them to shut those down at night.
We are getting more and more windmills to get green energy.
I believe that in Denmark 25% from the electricity is coming from windmills which is great.
I still have hope for a better future though!
    There is always hope!

Hahaha! Actually that review was recent, from an Etsy newbie who made me crazy with emails! It was an unfair review, and I gave her a chance to take a refund, or as Etsy says "kiss and make up", but she blew me off.

    I've already moved on.

You've got enough stress to deal with.I'm glad you found a solution that didn't make you nuts! Good luck!

To any of you with an Etsy account, I've got a problem. I ordered a mermaid crown from a certain seller who I will not disclose other than over PM until this is solved, but it's been over a month and it still hasn't been shipped nor have I been given so much as a picture update, despite many promises that it is "just about finished, and I should expect a picture within a day or two".

I opened an Etsy case, and today she closed it and told Etsy that I was given a refund through Paypal, but that didn't happen and she sent me another message saying that she is almost done with it (yet again) and that I should expect pictures in a day or two (yet again). Obviously summer is mermaid season and at this point I would prefer a refund since this has turned into such a headache, I know she's lying, and I'm sick of waiting. But does anyone experienced with selling on Etsy know what I can do about her closing the case and lying about giving me a refund? :/

You should be able to open a case through PayPal itself to get a refund, but if all else fails, contact your bank and tell them you want to initiate a chargeback due to non-receipt of item.

Oh HEEEELLLLL no. That is fraudulent as hell and I would report that to Etsy PRONTO. If you have notes from her admitting that she lied and didn't refund you, screencap and send them in along with your report (if you can include links to the notes themselves, do that too; admins can access them in cases like these). Do NOT let her get away with it, and if you're still within PayPal's protection window, file a charge back IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise, go to your bank and explain the situation, and they can help you get your money back from there.

File the chargebacks, tell her you're not backing down until you get ABSOLUTE PROOF that damn crown is done. No more stringing you along— "Pics now, or GTFO!"

This is a direct copy paste from my facebook.

Guys, let's stop trying to undermine important issues with other issues that are probably as important.
One is not worse than the other, one should not be given more attention than the other. If you care about an issue that's great. But don't be like "uhhh what about this?? Pay attention to this!!"

So i have 3 Etsy shops now.
1 Of the shops has more antique and vintage home and garden items.
My first sale on there was to a woman in China.
She sent me an email prior to ordering to ask how long delivery would take and i told her.
I also let her know that every order is shipped out with standard shipping which is the cheapest method for our customers.
That means there is no tracking number. But we do make photos at the post office when they put the official stamps on it and send these photos to our customers to show proof that their order has been shipped out.
I told this woman that shipping is normally with standard shipping, so no tracking number but if she wanted a tracking number i could change the shipping costs in Etsy fr her (it is €6.30 extra to get a tracking number. The Dutch Postal Services are very expensive with international shipping) and her reply was literally : "no thanks !!haha"
So we shipped it out as a standard package without a tracking number.
We shipped it out on June 5th and she has not received it and off course her first email to us was:" Can you give me the tracking number please."
I was like.... what the h..... she did not want a tracking number and now she is asking for one?
So i explained to her that she did not want a tracking number therefor there is none.
Anyway, she has emailed me a couple of times after that telling me it still did not arrive.
So i told her to contact customs in her country to ask if they are holding on to it for some reason.
She has photos of what the package looks like and the information on top of it so she can simply send that to customs to make it easier.
She wrote to me again today since she says she does not know how to contact customs and she really did not receive anything yet.
So i explained to her agaih how she can contact customs, 1 by contacting your postal service in your country and asking them how to contact them, and 2 by looking on google.
I have already contacted the Dutch Postal Service to ask if there were any delays to China and gave them her adress and they said there were no delays as far as they know but since there is no tracking number they can't help any further.
I understand it is upsetting not to have a tracking number but she said she did not want one since it costs extra.
The reason we ship everything with standard mail, is because it is a lot cheaper than with a tracking number and normally everything arrives.
This is the first time ever that someone has not received something.
If we start listing our items as shipping with a tracking number i believe our sales will start dropping because it is so much more expensive.
And i have the information on our Etsy shop on different places (even at our "welcome" message. So i believe we have done everything right here.
It annoys me though that she said:
"no thanks !!haha" and now starts complaining and being upset.
