OMG Crystal Shimmer, I love the wetplates! I'm super impressed to see them done in a tail, it's hard posing for them in general, but in like a 13kg tail, holding absolutely still for it, that's really cool!

That wetplate photography is amazing I am in a history of photography class this summer and I just learned of some interesting early photography today.
Thanks! They were originally heel fins for the tail to go near the secondary dorsal, but I decided it would look too crowded. I really like how some of the silicone tops that have fins look, so I decided to try it out :)

Aw thank you Kalani <3 I've felt like a mermaid by heart since I could first swim, but it's quite recently I realized you can get yourself one of these beautiful tails... So now I'm saving up for a silicone one and maybe I'll try and make myself one out of latex as well...
I saw some people have posted none tail-pics here so I (hopefully) share one of me dressed as one of my mermaid idols for my last birthday party ^_^

As you can see in the clip, this time the roles were reversed. The mermaid was tempted into the water from her sunny perch, by the adorable child. I wish the video could have caught the song she was making up, while hanging onto my shoulders, as I gave her a ride across the pool. I'm still not sure how I didn't just die from cute overload ;-D

About 2 days before attending a local sci-fi fantasy convention, I had the urge to create a new look for this tail, and get photos. So armed with the scraps from the creation of the tail, I whipped up a 1940s style "sunbathing dress", inspired by one I'd seen on Betty Grable.
Lucky for me, the hotel had a really pretty pool and my talented friend and fellow geek, Mary Anne Butler had her camera at the ready.
