So Mermaid Melissa is now tagging her stuff with "canada mermaid" and "canadian mermaid." She can't work here without a canadian visa. Are you kidding me? Wow is all I have to say.

The sheer wall of tags she uses is enormous. "Africa mermaid", "Alaska mermaid", "London mermaid" are a couple I spotted just from glancing.
Also, I recently learned that the leader of the group I used to work with just kicked out their 60+ year old mermaid/jellyfish because she didn't want to sign a paper stating she would only work with that group. The older gal was so pleasant and wonderful and the kids loved her! I can't believe she was booted because she would be considered "competition". I just don't understand it. The older gal had such a great time performing for anyone who would have her, especially around children. And now they kick her out because she's "competition"?

I had many admirers of my tail at the water park today but this one little girl (about 14) and her mom were much more interested than the others. I decided to let the girl take a swim in just my monofin...she was big enough to wear it and we all went with her. She was a natural in the water. It was so awesome to see. But at some point during her swim the fin insert broke. No buggy, accidents happen, it would have happened eventually from wear and tear even just by me. And it's only a $20 replacement piece.
Here's the punishment park. The replacement insert is out if stock and I have a pool party the 16th & 17th.

Did my first Princess Party in a while (and my first on my own! whee! I would really like to start a small company with this!) and was hired to be the little mermaid swimming in the pool. I arrived 15 minutes before my 'start' time as discussed with the parents and called as discussed to arrange for me to slip into the pool unseen while the kids were distracted.
No one answered the phone. I tried texting. Nothing. Called again and left a message. Finally 5 minutes before I was supposed to be in the pool and surprising the birthday girl I went to the door (without my tail) and rang the doorbell. Mom answered and asked me to come in and who do I see in the living room? A 'walking tail' Little mermaid playing with the kids! *facepalm*
Apparently the parents thought it would be a good idea to have two Little Mermaids there, one to play games and face paint and one to swim in the pool. Nevermind that we are both pretending we are the same person & kids (5 year olds) usually are a little brighter than that. :p
I immediately switched my name after hearing the other girl call me 'her sister' to Scarlet & it really only came up once while I was there when the other girl came out to the pool deck area while I was in the pool. She left about 30 minutes after I got there but yeah. Awkward!
