Usually people are blessed with either brains or beauty. It is just not fair for you to have both

Oh wow! Thanks so much for all your sweet comments everyone! You guys are so supportive and awesome!
Arion,
you're such a sweetheart!
Golden pearl (and pearlie!) I was an awkward duckling until I had kids. Scrawny as can be and all arms and legs! Hair and makeup go a long way!![]()
esther,
This was my top I made to match my first tail originally, but I repainted it to match Eva's for the pictures! I mailed it to her with her tail since it matches her tail nowit's the wrong size, but I'm hoping it will fit! I can't wait to see her in her tail!
so I just got back from the shipping store! Eva's tail has been shipped! I'm so happy and excited for her to get her tail, but at the same time I feel a little sad too. It's just so beautiful and hard to part with! I really love how it turned out and I know every inch, every scale of the tail!
I'm so glad it's going to such a good home!
Time to start a new tail! If anyone is interested, let me know!I'm making myself a new one and I would like to have two to work on at once (there's a lot of wasted time waiting for silicone to cure!) I like to stay busy and my goal is to make the next tail even better than this one

heres the tail all ready to go!
This is incredible and you are so inspiring! I've been wanting to try making my own silicone tail for sooo long now, and you've already made two amazing ones! I better get with the program!
You should make your own tail! It's a great project and so much funI do recommend that you start with a small project first just to get the hang of things (I wish I had...I wouldn't have run into so many issues with my first tail if I did a little project first!) a scale top or even just scale wristbands are a great place to start!

Oh, I will! I've just been dealing with a lot lately (no space/moving/looking for new job and being broke at the moment). But I decided that all I will ask for for Christmas is tailmaking supplies. And my mom is happy to support my mermaid habit so hooray! I've been showing her your progress pics going "See?? This is what I want to do!! See, she can do it, so can I!"
Haha yeah, I think Lorelei has been one of the biggest inspirations to everyone! But back then when I was watching her thread I was living in an even tinier space, with literally no room to work in (and two bonkers cats who would ruin it if I tried).
What kind of workspace do you have? You may have posted it earlier but I may have missed it or forgotten.
I work in my dining room. It's a DISASTER!! It even spews over into the kitchen when I need extra table space! My kids wind up eating dinner using the chairs for tables when I take over the kitchen. It's just so messy...so many materials and so much stuff!
Haha, this is usually what ends up happening with all my other craft projects. I'm amazed my family hasn't killed me yet. I'm just really worried about having mold materials and silicone needing to cure with all these cats around. I don't want them to muck it up and I definitely wouldn't want it to make them sick, either. I'm pretty paranoid when it comes to the safety of my kitty children.
You really, really don't want cats around your workspace! You would have cat hair stuck everywhere! Silicone is really sticky uncured and as you already know everything clings to cured silicone! I get lint and tiny specks of dirt stuck everywhere on my tail. Yet another reason I'm glad my kitty lives outsideI would be terrified that a cat would damage a tail with their claws or it would eat some silicone. It's skin safe, but if a cat ate a big chunk of it, it could cause a blockage in their intestinal tract. I doubt the body could break it down.
Yes, exactly. Although we definitely don't keep our cats outside because that's not safe either. So...I don't actually know where I would do this. I may just have to do the sculpting indoors and then wait for better weather so I can do all the molding and stuff outside...sigh. Oh well. Better safe than sorry.
Here are a few more pictures from yesterday![]()

stop being so beautiful! (no no, just kidding, please dont! hehe!)
I am still so blown away at how amazing your tails are! HOW IS THIS YOUR SECOND ONE?! lol!! I am envious of your tail making skills!! XD
Also, Fuzzball is adorable!! XD
AHHHHHHH IT'S BEAUTIFUL!! I just love seeing the tailmaking process, from materials to that magical moment it's put on!! I can't wait to see Eva in it too! Also, your hair looks super pretty in those shots, mine is the WORST at holding shapes haha. I'm gonna try to get it to be wavy for a bit for a shoot this weekend but even that means french braids overnight.
Ahhh it just makes me so happy to see how amazing your first attempts are turning outI don't have the time/money for such a project myself right now, I guess I'm living vicariously through your tailmaking ^^
I would so order one from you so we could REALLY be twins if I could afford it! Although I'm still definitely committed to making my own someday, because I just love making things too muchBut I can't wait to see what you put out next!
OMG it looked like you had no face there
You are the beautifulest and most talented mermaid I ever known
