Thread: Imagining the Deep

    Imagining the Deep

Hey, my name is Amphitrite and I love merfolk! My favorite things to do regarding this interest are writing (tons of) stories regarding them and their lives and researching about them and their watery worlds.

I do not have any tails and do not truly plan on owning any as my main interest is my writer's imagination. But I'm sure it will be fun to check out everyone else's.

If you know of one, feel free to send me to the writer's forum (if such a thing exists). I haven't seen much of this place as I just registered yesterday around 1am. See you all later!

Hey! Welcome! We do not have a writer's section set up but I think it would be marvelous if we had one, as you are not our only mer-writer in the group! I love your username, by the way!

Thank-you for the information. I was actually shocked that no one was using this one already. But as writer's are considered their story peoples' 'god' I figured Ocean Goddess might work for a merfolk website.

I second the motion to have a writers section! And your name really is awesome ^_^ By the way, WELCOME!

Thank-you Sirena. I just ran it by an admin and they said there wasn't enough interest. Well, maybe some time later it may happen. We'll see what the future holds.

A writers section would be nice, but I just put most of my stuff referring to writing in the Everything Else Forum.

Welcome Amphitrite to MerNetwork! That's really cool you like to write about them. I wish there were a few more mermaid novels out there to read, there only seems to be a handful. I love writing too but have never been quite brave enough to post them anywhere. Hope you enjoy your time here!

Koiboi, I don't know if you guys do them here, but perhaps a poll thread to determine if there is enough interest?

Good to know Alveric. If you could have a link for me to that thread or tell me its title?

Thank-you, Sea Pearl. I agree, I've never actually found one to read! :O If you have any suggestions?

If any of you are seriously considering writing but just don't know how to begin I have the perfect idea to start you off.

@Amphitrite: I've only posted excerpts or teasers on Mernetwork. Most of me work is on Fiction Press: http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2945918/1/Hannas_Tale is a novel which I'm trying to get published.
http://www.fictionpress.com/s/296634..._SeaGreen_Eyes is the sequel and is a work in progress. Older versions of these stories can be found on Deviant Art under Alveric2. I would like to see your work.

@Sea Pearl: Go ahead and post, we'll read and enjoy it, and we won't bite.

Thanks Alveric. I'm curious about the Great Lakes Pod. I don't have a 'tail and I don't have a car to get around to places. So I'm fairly limited. I'd love to start off with a monofin and maybe take it from there. I enjoy hanging out with people and wouldn't mind encouraging it near me. But I do need that encouragement.

Ah, and I'm on DeviantArt too, although I don't really post anything. I'll find your work there and will definitely read your art.

What is your DeviantArt page for when you do have your work up?

Welcome, hi! I'd be interested in a writer's section as well, since my interest in mermaids went from The Little Mermaid to an anime called Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch to writing about mermaids, to H2O: Just Add Water/Mako Mermaids, and then I found this forum and here we are. (Still working on that mermaid story. I'd like to actually get it published one day!) I just got my first monofin for Christmas and I'm thrilled by how amazing it is to swim in, so definitely look into getting one!
