Thirty day challenge over! Not a huge change, and I didn't actually loose a single pound (actually gained 1-2 from my muscles getting stronger *shrug* who cares? not me), but I am happy with how good I feel. As promised, before and after pics: The first two are day one, and the last three are day 30. (I can't seem to get these pics any smaller, sorry.) I know some of you will probably say that I wasn't really that fat in my before pictures, but I was terribly out of shape.

You know that it takes much more than only 30 days to see some changes, right?

You still can be proud of yourself for being constant in your efforts. Congratulations! Now you can start on month 2

Oh, believe me, I'm not quitting now! I feel too good working out every day to stop. I'm starting again at the second week of the thirty day challenge, and going through to the end again. And I certainly have seen some changes, but I'm too shy to put pictures of my bare bottom up on the internet. (my cellulite is mostly gone). I lost 2 whole inches from around my ab area (from the back I think. Goodbye saddlebags!), and a little less than an inch from my thigh. You know, the sort of changes that cameras don't notice very well. My absolute favorite thing is I find my posture is better from all the pushups I've been doing. It used to exhaust me to stand up straight, now I notice I'm doing it naturally.

As for me, I finally (with a doctor's help) solved a medical mystery and while I'm still in recovery mode, it IS recovery and I'm feeling better. I think about working out every day but have not had the energy. I am finally feeling it.

I gained 15 pounds in the past couple months. SO unhappy about that, but that's what happens when you're laying around doing nothing because you're in so much pain.

So. I'm pretty sure tomorrow is my first day back at working out. I want back the body I'd achieved before the medical issue got so bad, and I want to keep going back to my goal and better. It's April, and 83 degrees here today, but I'd like by June to see myself happy in shorts or a bathing suit.

So that's my new goal. As long as my medical situation keeps improving, and I have no reason to think it won't.

This thread is so helpful! Keep up the great work everyone!

Thanks! I'm not where I want to be yet, but I'm making progress. You can do it. Just screw the pain and power through. Being mentally fit and just the act of doing something for yourself can be physically healing!

As long as YOU can see it and feel it you're kicking ass! Keep up the good work feeling good about ourselves is so important to looking good. Posture plays a huge role in how your silhouette appears.

Coradion, you totes need to teach me how to pole dance. I've been running with my friend (painful) and going to the gym (slightly less painful). But I think I'm a bit smaller now. I feel skinnier. I'm ready for my tail when I get it. Also, Arion, I started doing squats and deadlifts after you posted that pic of the results it had on your butt :P Weight lifting is definitely more fun and seems to render better results than 'girl workouts' centered around just cardio.

Also, my school just opened an amazing new gym and I just went for the first time today. I feel crappy cause I'm out of shape, but great cause I worked out. Also there are tons of super hot guys, so that's a perk.

Were you using weights, Ireneho or just doing them normally?

Weights?!?! Are you mad? I'm too weak for weights!!!

  13. #553
I tried that booty and ab challenge, it was great, however I only stuck with it for like 2 weeks. I ended up hurting my hip flexor even more and could barely walk. Ended up at Physical therapy. Adding weights helps burn more calories when I work out. I do Jazzercise, which is 40 min of dance cardio and 20 min of strength training with weights. I added ankle weights for the leg exercises and 6 lb weights when doing upper body. The big thing that worked for me was cutting out alot of carbs. I try not to eat lot of bread, bagels, cereal, rice and more salad and fresh stuff. I am finally close to where I want to be, I have a couple more pounds to go I think I might try the booty challenge again, once my hip flexor is better

Maybe those booty squats are not for me yet. I had super sore legs and lower back afterwards.

Even kept my back straight, but no, I think I'll stick to swimming.

Less stress on my weak body.

I've been hitting the gym a lot lately my boobs (pecs) are way bigger! I've been getting a few compliments on them I just finished a pretty intense pole workout with some fellow dancers and I think we all look like we got abused. I'm covered in bruises, sore everywhere, and I love it! I love being workout sore cause it reminds me I worked hard.

    Hi guys

So I guess this is the beginning of my planning! As of this Tuesday coming I will be on a strict diet and exercise regime! Now, the reason I'm waiting until Tuesday is because it's my birthday this Sunday (And my 18th at that!!) and so, undoubtedly, there will be lots of Cake, fatty food, and maybe a little alcohol. Along with this, on the Monday my family is coming down to visit and we're having a buffet etc along with a little party :') so yeah...here's my 'story' if you will, so far.

When I was a tiny boy, I was always a skinny minney, but that all changed as I got into High school and ended up comfort eating. I got tubby...very tubby. It was such a complex paradox...I hated my school life, so I ate to feel better...I hated my body, and that made me want to eat more?? like...what. Anyway, eventually things got better, and I ended up losing a LOT of weight, but I was still rather chubby.

Moving on in life, I never cared much about my body or how it looked because I didn't have much hopes or desire to be anything that involved my body. I started hairdressing, and hated it! And ended up gaining a lot of weight again. To try and lose weight, I started doing a bit of swimming and another exercise I love...dancing.
I joined a ballet class, and a Jazz class...and boom! I lost weight again, and got the confidence to audition for a Performing Arts college to study in Dance, which I was luckily accepted into! This gave me a huge confidence boost and I was shedding the pounds so easily for so long.

Then my boyfriend cheated on me...and the comfort eating began again. But then things got weird...I stopped eating completely, fainted in Ballet class, and ended up making a huge drama of myself. I got yelled at for being stupid...so began eating again, but this time I started barfing it up...I was ill, and I knew it.
I eat okay now, but I binge a LOT especially when things are on my mind. I now weigh (please don't judge...I'll change I promise!!) 13 st exactly, which is about 182 lbs. and I'm only 5'10"

So now I'm ending the eating storms and sorting myself out. I don't expect to transform magically in a month or two, in fact....my goal is to reach at least halfway to my dream goal in about two years or so. If it happens sooner...great! I'm willing to put in hard work to make this possible.

As a dancer, I exercise often...we have daily class, and 4 of the 5 classes start with a 30 minute exercise session which includes sit ups, planks, push ups, stretches, etc. But I don't think it's enough.

    Here's me now:

and my final goal is something like this:

Size: 121.6 KB

Nothing too over the top, or overly muscled...just flatten my stomach, and chest and tone up a little.

I'd like to try a 30 day challenge to start, so if anyone knows any good ones could you link/post it here for me please?
And what kind of diet would you guys recommend?

aww Vaughan *hugs* if it makes you feel any better, muscle weighs more than fat. so it could also be muscle weight.

If you really want to commit to being more fit you should start now. Like right this minute. It's too easy to tell yourself you can put it off, or allow yourself to cheat on diets for special occasions. A big part of weight loss is often learning what it really means to go without food you really want.
