My daughter is begging me to post our pictures!
These are monofins from Fin Fun, covered with tailskins I made from shiny lycra.
Here's Rowan's gorgeous Fin Fun printed spandex tail, matched with their swimsuits.
I have to say, you may not get a lot of propulsion from the Fin Fun monofin, but their mermaid scale print is astoundingly beautiful in the water!

Made this one for my cousin last night. It's her first tail!
As someone said (at the risk of crossing Disney Princesses), "It's all so magical...."
That's one thing I might regret about my own childhood: I didn't spend nearly enough of it as a fish....

The back and the front of my very first tail. I just finished sewing everything, It's a plain Lycra fabric tail. The purple is lighter than it looks and I did some fin detail work on it. I haven't swam in it yet but I'm gonna wear a plain black bikini bra. I'm thinking on adding some scrap purple fabric around the edges at the top to stop from the continuous black effect the bra has with the top of the tail. Any opinions from more experienced mers? (btw sorry about the random leg in the pic)
It looks like you won't be a tail-less mermaid much longer! The scrap purple would go well with the top, though the simple bikini bra is also a reasonable option; a mermaid should think about whether the biologically "fish" part of her extends above the waist at all, and if so she needs to be able to explain why only the bra area is also fish-like!
