Drink extra water! It will go away.

I went rock climbing for the first time in 2 months tonight. I felt so heavy. My power is gone. Somehow, I can still do a pull up, but just one. I have some work cut out for me.

Yep, number one cause of bloating is dehydration.

Birth control pills reeeeeally mess with your body. Usually you adjust after a few days. If not you should try a different type.

They throw your hormones all out of wack. I get a bad stomach ache whenever I miss a day on accident. My skin breaks out too.

now that you mention the skin breakouts i've been experiencing that too. very minor though since i'm always using acne meds.

Took a riding lesson at a new barn yesterday, a barn that primarily breeds sporthorses for the hunter/jumper ring (AKA, a place that sells five figure horses), and oh my gawd, my jumps looked TERRIBLE. All we did were three tiny crossrails because my thighs have lost ALL their muscle and I couldn't grip well enough to keep my leg from swinging behind me.

It was doubly embarrassing because my equitation is good enough that I was able to "hide" my lack of core and leg muscles on the flat, but the reality shined bright when I tried to go over a fence on a horse with a really round jump. It really was embarrassing. I mean, the trainer knew I haven't ridden since summer and that I am a Netflix Olympian, but still... To look so pretty on the flat then fall forward like a kiddie doing their first crossrail because of my lack of muscle made me turn red. I will be doing LOTS of posting the trot without stirrups (trainer's orders and also hell on earth) until my legs can hold my body in place over jumps, but I only have time to ride once a week right now and so I am making a commitment to spend at least forty minutes a day doing thigh ball squeezes, sitting against the wall with legs at 90 degrees, and core exercises. No more crossrail blunders for me!
Once upon a time I was known as Seavanna. Going by Seatan these days. I always wanted to be the high lord of underwater hell.

Ugh that's the worst when it's something you know you can do but can't cause of lack of muscle. I was a comp swimmer for 13 years and am more fit now than I was back then but I've developed different muscle groups, when I get in the pool it's a struggle.

I shudder to think of what I would look like next time I ever get to ride, as it's probably been something like 15 years. I bet even the horse would laugh at me. But I know what you're going through. I took a ballet class for the first time in 3 years (there is NO appropriate ballet in my area, I had to go back to Boston), and while my technique is still so good, and I was in shape thanks to climbing, my jumps were sad. I used to fly, and I felt like I could barely get my butt 3" off the ground.

I just did a HIIT yoga workout yesterday, and I'm feeling saddle sore from it. All the temple pose squat jumps! It hurts to sit! If you want, I'll share the link, it will definitely get your inner thighs, core, butt, calf muscles, everything.

    Here you go:

The title says 15 minutes, but the video is actually just under 30. Rests are built in, so you don't have to pause or use a timer or anything.
I'm torturing myself with this again today. ;P

**Update: I did the video again today, with yesterday as a rest day in between. It's easier the second time around, but still not easy. I love the things that are always challenging like this— I could always jump higher, have better form, push just a little harder.... After stretching, all that soreness I've had for 2 days is gone. For now, anyway.

    Swimming tomorrow!

I'm feeling great! Everyone in my family is sick with a bad cold or cough, I don't even have a little sniffle. Usually I'm the first one to get sick and the last one to get better. Last count, it took me 3 months to get over a cold. And I don't get so puffed up with walking up hills, and during my swimming, I'm not so out of breath anymore. Really enjoying right now.

The only thing now, is the big tummy that I've had since starting to swim. No, I'm not pregnant. I'm hoping its a build up to having abs!

I think I need to get rid of my bathroom scales. They are so misleading! We're approaching the full of summer now and it is scorchingly hot, so I've lost a lot of weight from sweat alone. I'm keeping my fluids up, but I've noticed I've dropped to 50kg, which was my goal from a few years back, but I don't look any different. I certainly haven't been doing any exercise, so perhaps it's muscle loss? I quit my job a month or so ago so I haven't even had the bending/lifting that I'd usually get. I need to start weight training, I think!
