Unfortunately, those cheap versions oxidize in salt water because it's not real silver or gold...not to mention they can turn your skin green where they rub. Probably great for land gigs though.
coat it in clear nail polish and you won't have a problem.
I fix lots of my jewelry that way.

Today, I made new prescription swim goggles. Because none of the custom made ones had big, separate eye cups. I used an old pair of glasses, and a new pair of goggles.Luckily my eye power hasn't changed at all recently. Post pic tomorrow.

My necessary accessory... Prescription swimming goggles!
Recently, I had bought Sugru... I used it to glue the lenses to the outside of the goggles but instead of leaving big white ovals of Sugru, I got a bowl, poured in some beads and pressed them into the goggles. Colors are darker than this, I don't know why it shows up faded.
