That tail is just stunning, Poly. So jelly you got the she-creature fluke. I want that for my next tail. The peacock inspired colors are just perfect. If you don't mind me asking, how much was the upgrade cost?

I am looking into getting a bag for my momofin. Can someone tell me about the width of a merbella fluke? The general shaped one. I assume it's close to a competitor monofin, so would it be about 29 inches wide?

And the peacock tail is lovely! <3!!

Edit: Nevermind, I found them. Ug, I think it will be too wide for the bag I was looking into. Seems I may need to sew my own.

Something that you may find you can fit your tail into bag wise are bicycle bags. If it's for carrying purposes they probably won't work but if you just wanted to put it in a bag for travel then I've found some very large bicycle bags will fit

I had wanted to get one for carrying it around; to help hide it from the fact that I was carrying around a mermaid tail especially in instances where I don't want my tail seen before hand. Making a padded bag myself should not be too hard.

Funny you should mention this. Mermaid Ginger just posted about this today. She just bought a new tail bag. It comes in three colors; red, black or blue, and for $37 it looks well-worth the price. Here's the link to the bag she got, since finding it manually on the site is kind of a pain: http://waterwayfins.com/index.php?pa...emart&Itemid=4 I asked her about it on fb and she said she likes it. It also fits her Loreena Finfolk fluke, which is pretty big, so I imagine it'd easily fit a Merbella fluke as well. I was thinking about getting one of these bags for myself. Hope this helps

That is the bag I was looking into getting. She said it fit a finfolk, but I looked at the dimensions of the bag and compared it to the Merbella tails and the fluke on Merbella just wont fit in it.

Bag is up to 30 inches, Merbella flukes are about 32 inches.

This is hilarious! I just saw her instagram picture and then researched the bag because I didn't find much on Mernetwork. I may be buying this bag as well.

32 wide or long? If it's long, you could just fold the fluke tips while you're transporting the tail.

Hmm, I have a tail bag I got from Mermaidsrus back when I bought my first tail. It looks pretty small (also didn't come with any fancy stitching or my name on it), but it fits my tail if I tuck the ends inside. I wish I had a picture for you, but I'm off-island and my tail is on island. The picture on the site doesn't show any visible tail, but I imagine that's because their tails are thinner, not really silicone, and have small 'monofins' in them. You could try buying from them. Though I wouldn't give them any money purely out of protest of shoddy work and a bad experience with them. I know you said you didn't want anyone to see the tail, and you can definitely see the top of mine in that bag, but maybe a little visibility is worth not killing your arms. Since it does fit and it makes carrying a tail around so much easier. Other than the one I just posted, your options for tail bags are pretty limited. Unfortunately.

Yeah, I actually think I've seen this bag before she posted it, but it got lost in the ether of posts on here. I'm glad someone bought it so we can get an accurate idea of whether it'd work and is worth the money. From what I've seen, I'd say yes. I'd also chance buying it. i really think it'd fit a Merbella tail. Finfolk also uses competitors in their tails and if it fits that oversized fluke, it should surely fit mine. Like you said, just tuck the fluke ends. That's what I do now and it works great. But I'd love a nicer looking, more durable bag. That one closes all the way and has a good sized pocket for other stuff. Maybe a top.

If it works, let us know. it will be a big help to have to not to make a tail bag myself with all the other things I have to make.

For sure. I just need to get back to work so I can splurge on mer-things. I'll let you know when I acquire one. I know many of us have been waiting a long time for a good tail bag.

Yeah, I'd defiantly practice in a spandex or fabric tail first. Don't rely on just your knees to kick, use your abs, plus, it looks really awkward to just use your knees to swim instead of your whole body, (trust me, that was a habit for me until i saw a video of myself .(I know someone already said this) Hope that helped.

After so many pages, a little reminder never hurts, Pearlsey (also, your avy pic is a beautiful shot)!

polyhymnia, I am so happy for you regarding your tail; it's edged gold burns well into the bronze of the main tail, and makes that electric blue burn brightly like abyssal stars!

Sweet Mer-Michelle, I always adore your way with words. For everyone having the bag debate I have one of the waterways bags pictured for my custom monofin which is roughly the size of a Finnis Competitor (actually a bit larger) and it's awesome except for the zippers corroding easily if it gets anywhere near salt water so make sure you keep the zipper clean and well lubricated. My monofin fits with some tiny bit of room to spare. As soon as my tail arrives I will let you know if the merbellas fluke fits into it or not. Since the she-creature is supposed to be her largest fluke, if it fits all the other Merbellas fluke shapes should also fit the bag.
