I don't mean to sound rude but I work with animals and the only solution that I can offer right now is not letting the two be in the same room together. If your dog really wants to kill that bird then you can't keep them together. It's just not going to work out well.

Yep you are right. I just felt bad because the dog was getting jealous of all the attention I was giving the bird so I was trying to give them both attention. Then I was confused because I had two very opposite opinions from my parents. My Mom was saying the dog would be fine around the bird and my Dad was saying to hit the dog with a newspaper anytime she got near the bird. I don't know why I was being so stupid letting the dog be around the bird. I guess I was trying to compare our dog with other bird owner's livestock guardian dogs that look after their birds instead of eat them. Our dog is not a livestock guardian dog so there is no reason why she would be nice to a bird so that was bad reasoning.
Luckily once this bird is a little bigger it will go in the outside peachick pen and I will have less issues. I think I made the mistake of thinking of our dog as a sweet, cute little dog who wouldn't dare hurt a cute little birdie but obviously I was very blind. Safety precautions will definitely be upped here and either the bird and I will go outside when I take it out or the dog will be closed in the other half of the house while I take out the bird. Then once the peachick is a fully grown peacock she will be terrified of it.

So I just got my first "actual" job two-three weeks ago. I have to lift and change out full soup .....pot/vat/terrines and make sure they're always full, to do this you have to curl your fingers under the rim of the metal terrine and lift it out, take it to a small back room, lift another full terrine out of a steam table, pour it over a certain fill line then go replace it on the hot bar. Its been really taxing on me, part of the job involved wearing some gloves and reaching into literally boiling vats of water to pull out bags of soup and the gloves had a tear in them the first week of me being there and noone told me, so the first time I tried to use them I burned myself pretty badly. My hands started to be stiff when I woke up and I was sore constantly.
I wouldve been able to make myself continue enduring this, because whenever I complained about something I was just told to 'suck it up' or 'ha ha this is how the working world is' by whoever I happened to say anything to. Last week, after working mon-fri I woke up Saturday unable to move my right hand. What I mean to say is, I can curl my hand into a fist after sometime in the morning especially but my right index finger physically cannot move past ...a small curl. It was swollen, there was a pronounced bump on the side of my knuckle and goes between being oddly numb and painful if I try to manipulate it. When I went back to work on Monday I was dreading my shift - I thought surely noone would believe me or theyd tell me to "take it easy" and make me work anyhow. Lucky for me they just called some line which resulted in being sent home so I could go to an urgent care facility.
I was given some pills for pain and told to take them along with aspirin, and scheduled for two weeks of physical therapy three times a week. My mothers been sarcastic and aggro over the entire thing even though Ive tried to just find the humor in it "24, first job, two weeks in.... already on workmans comp. Doin' good" When my mom called my dad and told him what happened I could hear him making mocking statements and laughing. When we got home and she made me show him the papers he scoffed and dropped them on the table in disgust saying " I cant BELIEVE you filed for workmans comp" and walked away. Well gee sorry, but I dont have full dexterity of my hand ._____. Its not like Im frigging making this up. I dont know, its just been really frustrating to deal with. Like Im the one thats in pain and cant move my right hand properly.... why the hell are you all so angry over it?

What swam up his cloaca and died? You were injured on the job, your boss told you to file workman's comp, you filed workman's comp. Done. How is this his problem, anyway? You did exactly what you were told to do. Workman's comp can be a pain because you have to go to specific doctors and blah blah blah, but your company is footing the bill. Don't let him get you down, just get the treatment you need to recover and resume working. ^_^

I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not to keep my shop on storenvy or move it to etsy. I like the customized store front that storenvy adds, and that it adds personality to my shop and I also like how listing items are free and I have options for preorders or coming soon. But the one thing storenvy doesn't have is the search features like etsy does. If my shop was on etsy, I would be able to get traffic from searches on etsy and google for items similar to mine and hopefully sell something. What do some of you mers think? should I move to etsy for a bit and see how it works out for me? (here's my shop btw to see what I mean by customized store front)
If I do switch over, I can close my storefront on storenvy and redirect to the etsy one but I'm just worried because I've already posted pictures promoting the products with links to the product on storenvy that are making the rounds on tumblr.
why not have both?

If you get your own web site you can redirect from it to Etsy and/or Storenvy so you don't have to worry about posting to tumbler and losing views (just link to your site).
I would Keep your Storenvy and get a Etsy, it can take a while to get traffic on Etsy even with the built in search.
your Items are very cute by the way. I personally am more of a punk Lolita then a sweet but that lavender skirt is beautiful.

I'm going to be adding more stuff eventually (first up is a country lolita dress) I was going to make some punk and gothic lolita things but figured since it's warmer, a lot of lolis will be looking for more light things. I will be switching over to etsy to give it a try out once my shipping scale arrives
