Planning to purchase a silicone mermaid tail when...

I become as ripped as The Mertailor or the leading man from the tv show Mako Islands. I am a skinny guy. I wanna look a manly and strong merman. Gotta hit the gym now!

Which tailmaker should I buy a quality silicone tail from? I heard Fin Folk tails are better than its rival Metailor in terms of quality. I am torn between these two manufacturers.

Mertailor's biggest issue is inconsistency when it comes to products. There's no quality control. Some example (and yes, these are recent, from this year so you can tell it's still an issue): Bulky seams, miss fitting tails (whether that was a customer or error or not I am unsure), clients being unhappy with colour choices, mismatching fin pairs i.e they are clearly supposed to be a set of hip fins but one fin looks different to the other, fins falling off FIRST SWIM, tails being partially stuck together on the inside, I could go on. Noted that these have been times when he has produced fairly flawless work and been a pleasure to work with, but unless you're a high-profile client it's like a 50-50 chance you're gonna get a sub- quality tail. I think Mermaid Corinna said it the best in her mertailor review: "I realized that in his mind he is the mermaid tail superstar and I should count myself lucky that he is making me a tail."

I think you should go check out the review section for any tail maker you're considering first, but most people here will tell you not to risk your money with him and I'm sure like 99% of people would agree that Finfolk is the much better choice to go with, personally I would never call Mertailor and Finfolk 'Rivals' because there is no competition in my eyes. We've never had any complaints from a Finfolk recipient except maybe one which was a minor thing of 'the colour wasn't as electric as I would have liked'.

As for Finfolk you'd be better off checking their Finfolk forum as there aren't very many reviews, however there is a lot of stuff there to go through.

Kinda unrelated, but you have access to Havanargilas review? I can't see it. Could you link it?

I can't link it because of the way the reviews are set up, I thought maybe I could quote it, but same thing. If you want Yulia I can copy it and send it to you in a PM? I probably won't get the pictures, but the words at least haha.

You need to clear your box though, I can't send you the last part

I got some of it Mer-crazy, but that isn't Havanargilas review. I guess it hasn't been approved of yet.

Thank you for enlightening me on the issue about Mertailor tails' quality. I have read negative reviews on Mertailor tails before. At first, I thought that those were just made up in conspiracy to bring him down. Because just like smartphones, some people are paid to say negative things about their competitors. Samsung vs LG for example. But then I realized I can't just relate smartphone reviews to tail reviews. I really admired that guy. Now he is starting to disappoint me. I just hope that he will start making quality tails again coz from the looks of it he is just making tails just for the money, not making them to make his clients happy. That's just sad :-(
