Oh I've done that! Except it was a backwards butt scoot from pool to first step of seat, whilst the lifeguards back were turned. TAMW you're watching a fishing show, and one of the guys say, "We've got something in the net. Its big and heavy", and I says out loud, "MERMAID!"
TAMW one swims out of her fish pants 15 mins into her workout!
I could feel the waist, riding so low on my hips! So glad I had my wetsuit on, or else I would've been like Mr Bean and lost it in the pool... And then the whole theatrics underwater of trying to hoist the pants back up to where its supposed to sit. I gave up after awhile and just let it sit inside my wetsuit, butt cheeks holding everything in place!

Jaffa, that's hilarious. I always swim out of my silver fabric tail. Nothing says "I'm a graceful creature of the deep" like holding your tail up while you waggle through the water!
Yup! I may be extra gross, but I think what goes into mermaiding is pretty much grosser across the board than I would ever have expected. Ear aches, water streaming out your sinuses, swimming out of your tail, sweat pooling in your fluke... WE ARE GRACEFUL CREATURES OF THE DEEP!

Nah I don't think you are extra gross. A month ago I was a camp counselor and it was so hot outside that just sitting outside you would be drenched in your own sweat. I was covered in sweat the whole entire week and so was everyone else. The awkward thing for me about when I sweat is I get a sweat mustache.

TAMW (That Adorable Moment When) you are asked to introduce yourself on the first day of class and tell something interesting about yourself, and you say you're a mermaid and the professor gets so excited! So now I am the token mermaid in my cooking class! The professor's nickname for me is "Mermaid" which I think is awesome! So guess who is getting "Mermaid" embroidered on the pocket of her chef coat...

Aww Kalani next time you shouldn't be afraid to say you are a mermaid. I find that it normally starts a fun discussion on just what mermaiding is and how one goes about swimming in a tail.
That awkward moment when a guy you haven't seen in a long time shows up to church with his friend and they keep talking about how they have been surfing over the summer and how after church they are going to go night surfing at the beach. After hearing them talk about surfing, you decide to say, "I'm not a surfer, but I am a mermaid." Then the guy you don't know laughs and thought it was a joke. Then you decide not to bother explaining that you are serious.
I wasn't going to go night surfing because I don't really go into the sea at dawn or dusk. They are going surfing again tomorrow but during mid-day. They invited my boyfriend and me to come too, but my boyfriend will probably be working so I am considering going without him. I really want to learn how to surf although the waves here aren't impressive. I guess that is a good thing for a beginner though.

Tamw your model friend is talking to you about that Montreal mermaid school that opened up in Toronto and you're like "girl the mer community is throwing mad shade and sea urchins cuz she stole photos of other schools" and she goes "I am entertained at the fact there is a community. Then you go to explain everything about mernetwork without looking like a huge merd.
tamw you're setting into your home when thecityhall ppl come with a welcome basket and tells you what the town has to offer. Then they tell you the library... Has a pool! And the first question you ask is "what are the policies on the use of monofins?" But they don't know what a monofin is. So you try to explain to your elders what they are without sounding super smart.
