Show us your tail designs!

Where did some of you get those design stencils? And what did you use to color them?

A friend of mine, who is a talented artist, drew a mer-version of our favorite Disney character quite a while ago, and I would really like to make a tail inspired by it. I'll post a design of it soon!

For the superhero tails I made I was using Merbella's templates from their Facebook page. For my tail I drew it myself but I've been thinking of making a template to share if anyone is interested.

So this is the current picture I have in my head vaguely blotched to paper. It might change still but I thought I'd share it anyway!

Fins and fluke are (aimed to be) translucent towards the ends.

I just designed a tail inspired by some drawings by a friend of mine.

I also designed a tail inspired by a different character, but I don't think I am going to make that one. I could show you how I got the idea, though. (I am really tired of resizing images at the moment)

Awh, thank you! I really didn't think anybody would do it for me And if you can't that's okay, I'm working on it myself also. I just wanted to see other opinions

Some people have a lot of time on their hands or are happy to do designs for free, while others get many requests and prefer to charge for their designs. It appears OceanWhisper is happy to design something for you for free, but if you want a bunch of designs from different people you could commission others as well. It's up to you!

Not always. I like to ask for a little commission if it's actually going to be used to make your tail in the future. If it's just for fun, that's just free. :>

I'll throw my personal design up here. Its inspired by betta fish, red belly piranhas and godzilla. With built in gills along the abdomen. The blue spines on the dorsal side are small, almost alligator like plates

I love muted color schemes with a dash of high contrasting color, and also trying to find colors that don't clash horribly with my pale skin ;0;

Lol turns out I've had A BUTTLOAD of homework this week which I did not expect. I can still do up a design if you'd like I think I've got time this weekend

I have always had an idea for how I wanted my own future tail to one day look but, ya know, I can draw as well as I can sing. And I can't sing to save a baby whale's life.
