Aww, thank you! I should say it isn't as detailed or intricate. And I am actually thinking of getting it as soon as A: I find someone who can make it how I imagine it being done, and B: I have the money to afford it. I suppose I should start looking for quotes from tailmakers, huh?
Also I may have to try my hand at Photoshopping my existing tail to look like that. Can't hurt to try, right?
Fancy a cup of mermaid tea?

Thanks everyone and sorry for the late reply. I'm glad my designs look good to others, I was a bit worried they just looked good to me, lol.
@Mermaid Neri Elvina - Start off basic or use a template at first and look at a lot of fish fins. That's what I did. Even looking at other animals can some times help. If you would like I can help you out, I love drawing tail designs and have a whole bunch that I haven't colored (Kinda get stuck on color schemes....).
@Lotus the Mermaid - I've thought about commissioning tail designs, however I'm unsure if I would be able to do it as a paid kind of thing. Working with people mutually is easy for me, but as soon as money gets involved I freak out a little and stress out because I want everything to be perfect (more so then my normal perfectionism that I can work past).
@Vela - Thank you and you don't have to draw good to make a tail design, like with Neri I'd be willing to work with you to create a design for you (just for fun's or for dreaming about, lol).
@RomanLaveau - I'm so glad I could put you at ease with one of my designs. I actually love that colors scheme, even though it didn't come out exactly how I wanted. I'm developing something similar to it, but hopefully it will come out more of what I was looking for, since that design was actually created as a memento for my grandmother (She was a mermaid when she was younger, did parades in a paper tail and then a fabric one) and one day I will own it. Also your design from Syren looks amazing and I can't wait to see it created ><.
This is my first draft at a my tail. I want to work on the fin and fluke style a little more. Originally I wanted to base it on the veiltail goldfish however the double fluke was getting a bit complicated to desired to base it more on a Long Finned Comet Goldfish instead. I hope you like it I can't wait to start working on the fabric version.
It's so pretty, I actually worked on a concept for a double fluke but haven't been able to test it. In theory it should work....but my theories don't always pan out..., lol.
Also did you use a doll maker game to make the image or did you do it yourself?
Yeah I saw the sculpts and was likeTHOSE ARE AWESOME! I am no longer secretly rooting for the bad guy, I'm all out cheering ><.
Oh and the concept is finished, busted my butt the last couple of days to finish it and I'm not sure If I want to post it or wait until the thread is created for my tails creation.... I will however post up the other design that I original was going to go with until I made this new one.
The non-reactive would have like an oil spill look to it, shimmering between colors and the white would be transparent or milky in color (Not dead set on that and have been playing around with different ideals for that part). When reacted the tail will look black. I've been looking into making latex tails and will probably make this my first test.
Sorry for awkward long post or randomness, just over excited.
Haha yaaaaaa, but there is one more scuplt that I'm kinda keeping secret until it's attached to the tail but it should look amazing, I'm so excited about this particular one!
and OMG I love everything about those designs, that fluke design has definitely grown on me pretty fast, and the concept of UV light has always interested me. And don't worry about the randomness, it literally happens when anyone gets excited about their tail; word vomit, gotta love it!

Just designed this Columbia tail based off the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Me and my cult classic tail designs.![]()

It's difficult because the movement of the tail is obviously different. The fluke itself isn't too difficult as a concept, but trying to make it work with a mono fin is proving to be frustrating - made even more complicated by the fact I'd like a clear mono fin as I want the fluke to be translucent..... apparently I like a challenge :P
Also thinking of changing the colours to a white/peach/ballet pink combination instead. Not your normal goldfish colours i know :P
