Gah! I checked my schedule today and they are making me work at 2:45pm to 6:45pm on thanksgiving. I guess that even though I set my availably to not being able to work on Thursdays doesn't count for holidays, hopefully I'll still get to see my family and get holiday bonus. I guess that since I'm new I'll have to work more on holidays

Dude that sucks. We don't have thanksgiving here but I know the rules where I work is that they can't make you work a public holiday if you don't want to. Even if they roster you on you can say no. But we have a great union.

I will probably end up marrying my boyfriend, and his Mom is a stay at home Mom with 7 children. I foresee his Mom being the type that will pressure me to have kids. I won't be swayed though because I don't want kids and can't be convinced otherwise. With so many kids of her own she is bound to have many grandchildren without me. If I wanted a kid I could just mentor one of her younger kids. I just want a bunch of animals. I already have a good amount of birdie babies.

My boyfriend's Mom talks very quietly so I am imagining it being kind of funny hearing her quietly/awkwardly asking if I will give her a grandchild. I have already made it fairly well known that I don't like kids though. When she had her latest baby, my boyfriend asked if I wanted to hold the baby and I said no and then went back into his room. Some people really flip out about wanting to hold and stare at babies, but I am totally opposite.

I remember when we were at the hospital after my nephew was born. They were passing round the baby and it came to my turn, I said, "What are you giving it to me for? I don't want it"

Although I think I mainly want to hold babies when they're family. Just connecting with a family member the same way I'd hug a cousin when meeting them for the same time.

But me, if and when I decide I'm emotionally and financially ready for kids (not for awhile yet, just turned eighteen, lol) I'm skipping the baby years altogether and adopting toddlers.

It's actually bleeding from your vagina, being pressured into birthing babies, not having the same opportunities as male counterparts in the workplace, being ridiculed when you say feminism is still needed, hearing things like "I'm gonna rape and beat you" "get back to the kitchen and make me a sandwich", being called a bitch when she sticks up for herself when being cat called, being told by men "no you cannot have an abortion even if you were raped", being told you are not a good mother for feeding formula milk as opposed to breastfeeding or being a working mother as opposed to staying at home full time... And hearing shit from Caitlyn Jenner's mouth like "picking your outfit is the hardest part about being a women" making it seem like all women are shallow and that all other problems I've mentioned are trivial.

I'm so frustrated with myself! I keep procrastinating on projects I should be staying on top of but I can't get myself motivated. Does anyone have any tips for beating procrastination?

No idea, to be honest! I haven't seen much of anything either, but I get the feeling that it's connected to the callouts Christomer and Eden got here a while ago, both of them have kind of been extra-defensive since then. Neither of them gave a shit about anyone being "bullied" (can I just say that I absolutely despise that word?) in the mercommunity until suddenly people weren't scared anymore of speaking up and criticizing their own shitty behavior. They're only threatening to send "bullies" to jail now (which isn't even how that works, lol, but I digress) because their own reputations as "mer-royalty" have been damaged and more people are seeing them for how sleazy they really are. That's how I see it, anyway.

That is it exactly! Years ago, when my local pod member and I removed ourselves from Ncmerfolk, b/c we did not agree with the things that Chris wanted to do, we were accused of 'causing trouble for the group' and 'not playing nice', and we were talked about badly. All of our problems started when we would not blindly follow along and questioned things. Glad others are seeing this for themselves now. We were bullied too bc of it, wonder if I can file a report ....LOL. Then again, I could care less anymore, Its been years b/c we were the first ones to have to deal with this and have moved on since then. Just distance yourself from anyone who causes you negativity and focus on yourself and your loyal friends.

Since we are talking about bullying, I for instance is being harassed by Eden. She just won't leave me alone. I blocked her on FB, on MerNetwork and on Instagram to move on from the drama that happened back in September and she just can't let it go. I want to be left alone but she keeps on contacting me through my merman page *sighs*

::EDIT:: Arion, have you considered reporting her to FB for harassment? I mean, it might not do much because FB's reporting system is almost totally useless, but it might help to some extent. Otherwise, ignoring her is probably your best option. She's bound to get bored eventually.


Also, I just went to the Merfest page and noticed the "I'LL SEND ALL BULLIES TO JAIL" post that Chris made is deleted. Wonder when he backtracked on that? :P

I am so sorry to hear you go through this. I am going through a lot of stress myself with my family, work and not having a roof over our heads yet when we need to move out the end of Decembre.
What i do is simply sit down and do my work, i know it is not much help but there is nothing else i can do but do the work that needs to be done.
And when it is done the end of the day? I reward myself with some warm coco with whipped cream or something else that is a real treat for me.
Maybe what can help is making "to-do" lists for each day and try to do all on the list, make sure your list is realistic though.
You can start of with a few small things and build it up each day from there, reward yourself the end of the day by watching a dvd or something fun on tv or do something else to relax and get your mind on whatever is stressing you out.
Also what i have done is i have bought some natural relaxer pills and natural sleeping pills all from the health store. I opened up to the sales woman and answered all her questions honestly so she could give me the best advice and recommend natural pills accordingly.
I also have chamomille tea and other teas to help out.
What may also help is putting on some relaxing music, here are 2 of my favorite youtube channels with relaxing music, meditation relaxclub also has music especially for studying or sleeping:

I feel the same as RastaMer and TheMerthropologist.

This semester has been busy from the start and I have had little time do things other than homework. Now that it is getting near the end I am dwindling on motivation. Last week I had a few days where I just didn't do any homework and it was so awesome and relaxing that I am having trouble motivating myself to get back to work. I know that this semester being almost over should motivate me to finish my work because it is almost over, but I am just getting really tired of my classes.

What seems to be working well for me is doing homework at my boyfriend's house. That way I have someone to talk to while I do my homework. I am horrible at giving myself breaks when I am working on homework so my boyfriend will tell me to take a break every now and then and watch videos or play videogames with him. I really like Lilium's recommendation of using an app to tell you when to take breaks.
