That dress looks perfect on you Momo!
Oh wow. It looks like it was made for you!
Even though I can't afford most of the materials for a silicone tail (and a few other mer-related projects potentially involving silicone) yet I've been taking notes and brainstorming like crazy in the meantime (I might be able to do more in January). I've had a bunch of brain-sparks in the past couple days and been super excited. Tonight at dinner I was spewing out ideas and such, and my dad actually got really interested in it all!
So I kept explaining and going into more detail about processes and materials and technical stuff that I've been learning from researching on here and the internet. He then started asking questions, and helping me brainstorm and plan. He thought of things I hadn't which was super helpful! And I'm just so excited both from all the fun ideas filling my notebook and the fact that my dad's so into this with me.
(One of the things I want to make is a small bloom of silicone jellyfish - partly because I love jellyfish and partly because I want to do a photoshoot in the middle of a bloom and that's pretty much impossible as a human... except in Jellyfish Lake which I'm not likely to get to ever...)
Now if I can just get up the courage to try the casting epoxy/resin I have on some of the scales and mini fluke I have...![]()
thanks everyone! I can't believe we found it and at such a nice price too.
The dress already fit me like thatMy mom figures that since it's vintage, and back in the day a lot of people were smaller that that's why it fits me. (I'm also not wearing my corset there, my mom has banned me from wearing my corset with my dress because the dress is already really heavy)
Wow Momo it looks so amazing on you! Congratulations on finding your perfect dress.
The dress looks like it's made for you!
I guess you said yes to the dress! YAY!!!![]()
All you have to do now is pick a song to walk down to that'll make him cry happy tears >

Wow, your wings are absolutly gorgeous! And you are so cute! You can tell how happy you are with the wings, they look beautiful on you!
My Spanish class got canceled due to the rain! Which means I can go home and work on my sequin tail! I'm really craving to start sewing sequins on before I'm even finished sewing the vinyl and Velcro and taking in the body of the tail. Hopefully I'll be able to start sewing sequins on soon!

So I'm taking a Japanese proficiency test this weekend (provided I can get back to Chicago from Texas in time) and while I decided to take a ludicrously ambitious level (level 1 is the hardest, my teacher recommended taking level 3 or 4, I'm taking level 2) my Japanese teacher accidentally hit upon the perfect study tactic.
She assigned a big project for the weekend, which essentially entails me (and my classmates, of course) to write two pages of Japanese for a video project done in small groups. So a group of five has a ten page script, a group of four has eight pages, a group of three has six, etc.
But it means I can just write, and stretch my Japanese fluency to the outer reaches of its capability. Which will get me all warmed up for the test given that I'll be basically driving straight to the test in Chicago from Brownsville Texas.
Also, when I needed to disappear to Texas, I managed to describe the entire situation to my teacher in Japanese. I am SO proud of myself.
And to explain: I'm applying for a bilingual international college in Japan. They only take level one and two test scores. I actually don't need to take the test, because English is my first language, which means I'm guaranteed fluent in one of the two languages the school teaches in, so the point is this: even if I fail the level two, it will look impressive that I even tried it.
