That awkward moment when you're planning your first swimming date/meet-up with another mermaid and you can measure how long it's been since your last swim by the length of your leg-hair.

... Apparently I forgot how to shave my legs for five straight months.

The winter coat is especially luxurious this year. Oops.

A work colleague recently discovered I was a mermaid.

"You got a husband?" I ask in reply, just as quietly.

That Awkward Moment When:

- I get hit on by a 20 year old at a Bat mitzvah while my mertender/hubby watches trying to stifle his laugher.(and of course revenge is sweet when an older lady tried to hit on him and asks if im his daughter LOL, he's 6 years older than me and has alot of gray hair)

- Due to Mertender/hubby's clumsiness I land on a fellow merman's lap (that I just met) and wanted to die of embarrassment. (Yep Im sure Chris Remembers)

- Having to help my fellow mersister(s) with her tight tail and being so awkward with the pulling and .. oh the pulling lol.. yea we are so much BFF's Now

- Seahorse on seaweed top gets alot of attention from the kids... At least SOME are polite to ask if they can touch.

- Rough waves during a photo shoot, and being thrown back on land from the washing machine of an ocean in front of hot lifeguards...

That awkward moment when you try to race another kid in a mermaid tail, but she psyches you out by only swimming half the length of the pool and you had to stop to adjust your bikini top but ended up almost drowning because a kid kicked water in your face, and you lose the race and never hear the end of it for the rest of the day.

That awkward moment when you try swimming without your tail after swimming with it and the lack of speed is both uncomfortable and disappointing so you put the tail back on.

That awkward moment when you try to pick up a hot lifeguard at the pool but he's not into chicks who dress up as mermaids.

That awkward moment when the little girl who looked so excited to see you in your tail sees you getting out of it and you realise you just crushed a five year old's dreams.
