This question came up while talking to my friend about expanding on the stories of our mermaid characters...
I was wondering how many of you might either have a last name for your mersona or any ideas for mer last names?
Random question sorry![]()

Mermaids - not so graceful on land...

I like to use lesser used languages and names of fish genus! My baetta fish's name ( get it bae-tta fish?) is Osphoro Midae. I like to call him Ozzy sometimes. His name comes from the family Osphronemidae of the betta genus. He's a betta Merman. I also know a jellyfish guy named Aurelia.
Mersona Last Name is Fablefish! First name still in flux, hehehe.
Don't be such a guppy. -Ariel
My nickname say's it all!

well im still in the drawing boards for a mersona but my lastname is Fox so i guess my mermaid name would be Foxfish. some name as the fish below
actually now that i think about it maybe i should base a mersona or even a tail around the foxfish

I actually do have a last name, and it was an accident to have it...I was on swimming hall gig, and this little girl asked me if I had a dad. " Of course I have, almost all mermaids are born in their own seas, and their mother and father are queen and king of their sea. So actually all mermaids are princesses etc. so I'm princess of the arctic ocean as are all my sisters and my brother's are princes.." " so do you have a last name? " " Ohm, uh, yeah, it is a bit different in mermaid language, but I think it could be formed same as Icelandic girls', their last names come from their father, and then they just add 'dottir' after it." " so what's your dad's name?" " uhm uhm... he's name is Jurenius (??) " " So you are then... Nerissa Jureniusdottir? " " ...apparently I am.... " Haven't used it since though XD

Well as you can see my first name is Roman and my last is Laveau (Luh-voe) since I am a bayou merman, it was only fitting that my last name be after the Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau
