Here's a photo of a tail I just finished for my sister's birthday.

Wow, I did it, read through all 138 pages of tails.
I made these between 2007-2008 for various parties in SF. They weren't swimable! The flukes are made out of up cycled couch cushions that I carved and made foot pockets in so we could flip them around. Gosh those were fun times! But of course that was before having all the kids, and settling down

The gold tail is a latex fabric, and has a very cute attached top with keyhole stomach and back area, very pinup like. The Mahina monofin isn't sealed in so I can walk in it. I just made this one last month.
I am working up a design for a silicone tail, and can hardly wait for hat to be done so I can post here again

I FINALLY GOT TO TAKE MY GOLDEEN TAIL into the water!

Here is what it looks like!

    What do you guys think?

  9. #2749
I think it is a beautiful tail! It looks very graceful and it has a great amount of movement to it without looking too flowy.

Thank you For some reason, the scales are all out of whack in the picture...they look fine in real life!

    Hey Athena,
I am getting a Mahina and would love to create a tail like yours, do you have a temp attachment to the fin? how do you stop it from rolling up your legs? Would love some ideas

It's pretty tight around my ankles, I made fluke shaped gold net fins, they are hard to see in the photo. They flop over the monofin from either side which pulls it over the edge and stops it from rolling up.
im going to see if I can find a better pic.
