Aqua socks!!! I use Finis aqua socks when wearing my Finis foil monofin or Aquarius monofin (they have a smooth bathing suit feel to them), and I use Pod neoprene socks for the heavier Mahina Merfin. They help your feet slide in easier and prevent blisters (no blisters or broken toenails since using aqua socks). :-) I have found another handy tip would be to make sure your feet are as far into the foot pockets before putting the straps over your heels. Hope this helps!
Hmmmm, I am not so sure. I came by this photo on Instagram of a blue tail with extra fins, which shows rows of scales and gaps of neoprene:

I must say though, I saw Mermaid Saren's video of her swimming in her tail, and she looked stunning! Her tail looked sleek and shiny and you could barely tell there were any gaps. Most of the tails that are popping up on Instagram look as though their scales have been sewn in rows. Mermaid Gemini seems to have the only tail so far that I have come across that has tighter overlapping of scales. Perhaps the twins will take that on board for future mythic tail creations...

Thank you for this! This makes me feel better and I will note this in my final review video.
As for swimming in the water, those neoprene gaps do not matter AT ALL in water. All I've seen in my video footage is the shimmery scales.
Honestly I feel the twins were very right, these tails were made for water. To use them on land I feel crates more problems. But in water theres no problems at all! It swims so beautifully and keeps me very warm in cold water.
How is the buoyancy of the tail, Saren? I know neoprene can be quite 'floaty'. 🙂

In a saltwater pool it wasn't very buoyant at all. In fact I was surprised with how much I was sinking, since neoprene is supposed to help you float. The weight of the scales, fluke, and the water does seem to counter the buoyancy of the neoprene. However I'll see how it is in the ocean and in a regular chlorinated pool.
Thanks! Good to know. ☺

the gaps in your swimming video Saren are unnoticeable. how do you feel about the gaps/lines now? glad to hear the twins have replied to you.
i am glad to hear of the neoprene keeping you warm in cold waters. Being in the UK our sea's are almost always freezing lol. And yes to these tails being made for water purposes and not posing, my full intentions are to swim in the tail any free time i have.
I use the Finis socks (I have them in black and purple) and they feel like bathing suit material and are quite thin:

The Pod fin socks are made of 3 mm neoprene, thicker than the Finis ones and better for heavier monofins :-)

While it's exciting to see the Nile Tail and a couple of new colours, I can't help but feel disheartened that these tail colours, which weren't even released during pre-sale, have made it to their owners already. Perhaps as a mermaid pod they received a special deal or are part of a beta-test of some sort...I ordered my tail on the first day of pre-sale and received email notice on Jan 3rd that my tail was ready for shipment, however, it still has yet to be dispatched![]()

Now that I've swam in her and seen other mers with gaps It doesn't bother me in the slightest! I don't plan on posting the final review until after Mermania, so I'd love to get footage of other Mythic mers swimming and their review. When we did our taping I didn't get enough footage.
I'm sorry about your tail not arriving yet. I think with this pod they may have done a photoshoot to show off the new colors just like Mermaid Hyli and the other mers did when the Mythic tails first released. To my knowledge Hyli kept her teal Mythic tail. So I imagine because the twins are close to the Singapore mermaids that it's a similar situation.
The orange tail is absolutely gorgeous and I'm so glad I invested in the Nile Tail, even though I still haven't gotten any word on where it is.
Saren, I have to agree with what the other mers here said! The tail looked stunning in the clip you shared with us, I didn't see any neoprene at all!! Please post a longer swimming video. I really want to see it in action!!![]()
