That tail is going to be awesome. My friend just completed a tail using that fabric for me.

Most definitely once it arrives. She has to send it first. I'll do my best to remember.

I'm just trying to be patience. The monofin in that one is way more better apparently than my fin fun monofin (which is falling apart no matter how great I take care of it).

I also really need to get a new monofin. I only have the Fin Fun one from my first tail that I got 3 years ago. I still make all my tails around that one. Monofins are costly.

That is awesome. Something about my fin fun monofin is that it's trying fold itself within the fabric cover of the monofin. I already used the hair dryer to flatten the plastic out but after the next swim, the cover to that monofin is bending the plastic inside back out of shape.

I think that the best monofin design I have seen for a fabric tail is the old monfin's MagicTail had. They actually had a rubber foot pocket and it wasn't just fabric holding your feet to the board. It'd be nice to recreate it.

I have had mine for four years and while I was at MerMainia the back of the foot pocket ripped, I am going to try and repair it.

I never understood why fabric tail made their monofins so weird and hard to use.

Oh, well I've never used a monofin that had foot pockets, so I can't really comment on which is easier or harder to use. The only complaints I really have about the Fin Fun monofin are that the elastic around the ankles wears down over time and the design creates a really sharp, blocky heel, which is, like, the exact opposite of the mermaid aesthetic. My fin is bending a bit, too. But, it's probably my fault because of bad storage and all that. Also, I would complain about the (lack of) propulsion, but I had the old fin (clear plastic) before I got the new insert (black). That one had even worse propulsion, and sometimes trying to put it back in the sleeve could cut you. And it broke on me. So, compared to that, the new one is leaps and bounds better.

It's good they are improving it! My MagicTail appears to be made with a Plexiglas like material.

The monofin inside the one that was just finish is a MagicTail monofin.

Yes. It's the MagicTail Mermaid Flipper Classic for the tail that was just finished. I still can't wait until she sends it so i can try that monofin.

Very cool! I love the colors you chose, and the shape you're going with for the fluke. (I actually plan on doing a similar shape for mine) I can't wait to see it finished!
