Yes the glass I used to mold the massive 120 scale mold was originally a table glass that I picket up on my way home cause it looked like a good sculpting surface, and yes I had to sculpt all those scales cause castin 19 at a time every 24 hours is way too tome consuming so casting 120 at a time should speed things up a bit

I ussually sculpt or brush my finger on the surface looking for bumps and brush them out with my fingers I also have two table laps at different places so it casts dinámica shadows on the surface revealing or accentuating any topography.
Sometimes I do it till my fingers burn and bleed

Oh wow ouch, do you ever us like a hair dryer to heat up the clay to make it a little softer or just strictly your hands?

No friction does the job and I prefer harder clay cause too soft is more easy to make indents that I am trying to sculpt out

    Those sculpts are beautiful!
Even as it is written, "She had her dwelling in the great sea -- and was a fish therein."

That massive scale mold is genius! I never would have thought to use a glass table top.

    Thanks guys ❤️.

Yeah the glass table top was the best idea I’ve had lol I found a rectangular one pretty long perfect for a scale sheet.
Here’s the scale pattern I made with three different sizes

This pic is the scale pattern I made using 3 scale sizes , these are not glued down so might be a bit out of place.

That's so cool, what are they being glued down to? is that powermesh or some other sort of fabric? (am learning lots from watching all these tailmaking journeys ^_^)

What type of plaster are you using Marinus? The amount of detail it captured is fantastic
