Being able to swim usually is very calming for me, but it's turned into something tricky because I usually bind my chest to feel comfortable around people (and even now it's gotten to a point where I can't bind for more than an hour before my ribs hurt, so I can't even do that all that often..) and I've been unable to do that for swimming, so I feel really anxious about swimming now.
That turned into more of a rant than I meant it to... bleh. I'm not sure what to do. Medication for anxiety hasn't worked for me before, and I don't have enough money to go on medication that may not work. I really wish there was a place I could swim alone around here, but there isn't.
Have you tried compression pants? I wear them and they help me keep more relaxed and less prone to attacks.

My binder is a compression shirt, but I'm not sure how well it would work in the water. It might compress too much now, since it's gotten to a point I can't wear it that long anymore. I've had to switch back to sport bras and that's even more stressful because they definitely don't hide things as well and the ones that do a better job of keeping things in place seem to have a molded boob shape so they don't look as flat - which is the opposite of what helps me.
I've been trying to save up for chest reconstruction surgery, but it seems every time I manage to make a little money to save away life requires that money for bills.

Know what freaking grinds my fins?
When people say shit like "You NEED to spend more time with me" when they know damn well you are extremely busy with damn near everything under the high flung sun.
Like, I am so pressed with school right now (my classes are really keeping me in a state of "Can I just drop out and be a stripper?" mode) and I have so much on my plate that there are times at night where I actually want to cry. I practically live at the library nowadays and I have to stay up for HOURS past midnight just to make time to watch one of my favorite weekly shows. So imagine how I feel when one of my friends tells me that I *NEED* to spend more time with him, as if he is entitled to my attention and more important than everything else I have going on, both school wise and in my personal family life, mind you.
Like, dude what the actual fuck? And then he had the nerve to actually get mad at me?! I swear I just want to fin slap people sometimes.

I think I am going to sob now, the guy I'm going to senior prom with no longer wants to buy me dinner. I'm fine with that, I am an independent woman who can pay for herself. However, apparently he told all his friends that he won't buy me dinner because he "knows I won't sleep with him". Not only am I offended that he expects that of me, but that he thinks I can be "bought" for so little. I feel objectified. Does he really think I value myself so poorly? Do I carry myself in a way to make him think that? Does he think I'm that desperate?

Meanwhile the stress of school is causing hair loss, nail breakage, and I have started hallucinating and sleepwalking. This is too much I'm exhausted.

Jeblily that's awful. I'd deck that guy. You stand by your morals. If he's that big of a jet do u really wanna go to prom with him?

Dump that idiot! Holy shit! I would grind that asshat's teeth into the curb!

If you want to go, go solo! Hire an escort! Take a family member! Geez! What a classless piece of shit your 'date' is!

Seriously, it might seem like a big deal now, but in the very near future, believe me, in the big scheme of things, prom is so incredibly unimportant. It's better to not go at all than go with a douchebag like this guy.

    Agreed!

I was thinking that too Rebekah Fish & I definitely agree with Pearlie! I wouldn't even go to prom with a jerk like that Jeblily. I know everyone has their own morals and ways of seeing things, but I personally avoid guys like that. There are good guys out there, sometimes they are hard to find but they are there.

I wouldn't reward him by being his date. If you already have a dress and tickets you could just go with your friends.

This all reminds me of a guy I met this semester who hangs out with my friends. He is a serious womanizer and he disgusts me. He stares at girls talking about their butt and how hot they are and how he wants to get to know them and have a one night stand with them even when he already has a girlfriend!

Aww, that is terrible! Dump that guy, fast! I went to Jr. and Sr. prom without a date, and I had the BEST time both years! No jealous guy, I could dance with whomever I wanted, my girlfriends were all there, and we looked awesome, and we just had a good time.

It's a dance, with a pretty dress. In the end, that's all it is, so have fun no matter what!

As for the stress, can you take a sanity day or 3 and just rest? That's the only way I survived.

I agree completely! I'm a sophmore and know nothing about prom but if anyone is that low I'd dumb their sorry ass so far off a cliff. find someone better than that.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Lol
Seriously, any guy who thinks that little of you isn't worth your time. He can go with a girl who will be bought by one dinner if he that's what he wants. You deserve to go with someone who respects you for the independant, lovely woman you are. Don't settle for him.
    Hugs, fishes, and mermaid kisses!

Go by yourself! Go with a girlfriend! Or if you're super stressed about stuff then maybe don't go! It's not a big deal but if you go with him he will still think there's a chance. Don't put yourself in situations that make you rethink yourself or your integrity or compromise your morals. You're worth so much more

Thank You!!! I'm definitely going to address this with him... Prom is this weekend so I think I am stuck riding with him in the limo, but that doesn't mean I won't ditch him for my girlfriends at Prom!!!
