If the paint layer isn't too thick, you might retain some of the translucency.

I wouldn't paint mine because I'd go for a white tail with very diaphanous fins, like this one

    Not so flashy.
A tailmaker would probably go "meh, what a boring design" seeing it lol.

When will the second winner be chosen?

I am currently working on the free tail for Yulia. After some tails are sold, I will give away another in few months.

Thank you for the compliment! This will be the first mermaid tail but I have been a sculptor for 20 years and make silicone babies.

Fellow sculptor! I would love to see some of your other creations! I hope you post some pix in the Showing Off page.

The fluke is wonderful...I am so anxious to see the whole thing come together!

Thank you to Daphne for designing the Merdivas Studio Basic Tail Template!
She has also done some wonderful work on the cover and avatar for the Facebook page.
    https://www.facebook.com/MerdivasStudios
Check it out in the photos section and let me know which ones you like best! And like the Facebook page.
I will be posting my new H20 Mako Mermaids like fluke maybe today and the H20 skin in a few days.
Feel free to try the template with different colors you might like in your Merdivas Basic tail. These will be going for around $700.00 in full silicone. I want to permanently offer the lowest possible price for the best quality and design in mermaid tails.
    Thank you again Daphne!

That is wonderful! I love how you have the scale pattern gradation with the larger sizes centered and the smaller scales toward the bottom and sides. And that fluke is killer!

    700$!
That's a VERY reasonable price! Especially for that unique fluke and the details of the scales.
Nice to see that many mers already want to order from you, Merdivas can only go up from here!

Thank you Yulia. And let me note that this is for the FULL SILICONE that others charge $2000-$3500. This is NOT the neoprene with a thin layer of silicone that others charge $1000 for.

Yulia I just emailed you an update on the products I am waiting for in the mail to start your tail in a few weeks.
I am waiting on polypropylene for your monofin and will make it similar to Leaderfins Hyper carbon or the Hydra monofin. Also your pigments should be here in about a week.

Does anyone have any ideas about water shoes /boots I could use for the monofin?

I had wanted to use fiberglass but it can shatter. Polypropylene will not

  15. #95
My Leaderfin monofin came with free socks and a soapy spray

I totally get it about the Facebook likes. My Facebook page has around the same amount. www.facebook.com/TheMermaidLulu

I have a lot of respect for your craftsmanship and would love to incorporate your tail in my mermaid web series. I'm sending in an entry and I hope you like it.
