Actually, the tail is not finished yet.
We are doing touch ups on the colors at the moment, we will add black spots on both sides of the fluke and then, it should be done :)
I ordered back in September and while I DID pay the rush fees, I have been waiting a fair amount of time because of their moving to Hawaii and Merfest. The production of my tail has been delayed just like the other orders and I was fine with that.

Hey guys. Sorry we have been hiding for so long (Amelia and I). We have been so busy and I have been working non-stop. But have something exciting and finfolky I thought I would share with my Finfolk brethren. Amelia and I and our finfolk tails are travelling to the other side of Australia to collaborate with Reef HQ aquarium and perform with Mermaid Cora and Mermaid Magenta and their finfolk tails. There are only about 6 or 7 finfolk tails in Australia and 4 of them are going to be in the same tank! Whoo! We are going to be so colourful!

293 Euros is not too bad. One month ago I imported a tail to Germany and paid 680 Euros at customs office (ca. 740 USD). No joke. I guess it depends on how the tail is delivered as well. Enjoy your new tail nevertheless!!!

UPDATE : So tonight, my boyfriend and I went to DHL center after work with a car so we could pick my Splash tail together and unfortunately, we were too late. The customer support told me on the phone this morning that they would be open until 9pm today and in fact, it was 8pm... I met the security guards there who told me that they all left. :doh:

WE WERE SO CLOSE. :headwall:

BUT the good news is that they are OPEN TOMORROW!!! So we will be going there again in the morning for the opening. I just can't wait longer. :gah:

The person who MADE the tail is instagram user: whoisnaja. anthuntproductions only painted it. she has several pictured of finfolk-heavy inspired (copied) tails on her ig. its a shame she has a lot of fx makeup and shes obviously talented but she resorts to copying instead of adding something new and beautiful to the mix :/

Well she has a few progress pics and it looks like shes using a foil, and the fluke mold is clay, so she sculpted in negative and then pulled the silicone off the clay, plus it looks like everything is reeally thin. I wouldnt have a problem if she weren't copying finfolk and undercutting them.

I've been struggling with what color tail I'd get (mainly light or dark issue) and then ended up getting inspired by the skin on my upper arm... (that sounds weirder typed than it did in my head... the skin is a light peachy color with darker pink mixed in and lots of freckles, plus I'm super pale so you can see the veins in my wrists/hands very easily) It just kind of turned into a color scheme idea and then I ended up literally dreaming about that tail. It's missing the tummy fins but I was having trouble getting the shape right so I left them off for now. It took several attempts to get it right but then this showed up and it took my breath away (which none of my other sketches had). I sat there staring at it for a good 5-10 minutes, wanting to claw it out of the page so I can wear it... Maybe sometime in the next couple years? (Depends on how fast I can save up...)

Right and that's why I initiated contact 3 weeks ago. I wanted to get the tail out to them as soon as possible, but I've been trying to get an answer for 3 weeks. I can completely understand if they can't fit me in, considering how much time has passed since I first messaged them. My first message was April 17th and I've been following up every 3/4 days.

Thank you for trying, Arion. All I needed to know was if they could or could not, because I was prepared to do a rush shipment either way. I understand that they're very busy, but I also see them post every day on FB and IG and all I needed was a "yes" or a "no" answer.

It's a beautiful design and the fact that it picks up the tones of your skin will make it remarkably real looking and cohesive! I am sure the girls at FF can come pretty close to matching your skin tone if they have a good quality color pic! Good luck!

I think the rounded ones are very cute actually, since they're textured and don't have sharp edges.

I had dinner with my grandparents a month ago and they confirmed what my mom told : they created a fund for any special project I wish to make happen in the future. I don't know the amount though.
Fun fact is that they even told me that it could be for a new tail! They love what I do. But I just got my Splash tail recently so I think I should wait half a year, maybe more to enjoy it and the blue tail as well.

But the craving in still here, believe me! The addiction is real! :)

I know how you feel, I waited almost 10 months for my tail and I've been waiting almost 6 months for the top now (trying to be patient, but it's proving to be becoming more difficult). You're going to be so happy with production starts. There's no better feeling that receiving that first progress picture. :)

I have been thinking a lot recently. I previously said I might order a third tail from Finfolk in the future, somewhere in 2016. My grandparents have a fund for me that I can use. They even said themselves that I could use it for that. I thought about a iridescent green tail with a design close to a trout fish. But now, I'm thinking about maybe updating my very first tail instead because the one I have is imperfect. Then, the third one would have the same design but without the blended waist, bigger spots, a new dorsal, new pelvic fins, heel fins, the same fluke but with longer streamers and a trainer monofin.

What do you all think? I would love to hear your opinions.

So it would be an entirely new tail Arion? Or just your first tail upgraded/ repainted? If it's a new tail I think something new and different would be amazing, that way you can have three different colours for when the mood strikes you ^_^ not that a new blue tail wouldn't look amazing, because you look great in blue but now I would love to see you in green too!

I'm hesitating actually. I think I would look very good with green considering my pale skin and my blond/ginger hair but Finfolk has grown so much since my first tail. There are some things I would have loved to have on my blue tail that I can make happen now. Like, for example, the rounded scales. It's tough to make a decision.

Yeah changing scales is a little hard haha. Otherwise you could have maybe sent it back to get touched up. Hmm... You could always have the rounded scales on the green tail but I understand it's not the same.

The blended waist is not equally painted on both sides, the leaf scales are not perfectly attached (granted, my tail is the first one that got them..), the competitor monofin is heavy and not really comfortable for posing, the pelvic fins are not attached in a clean way, the current dorsal is fragile and can get tears easily if one do not pay attention, and the foot pockets are really tight on my feet.

In spite of all these imperfections, I love my tail and it's holding up very well. I learned a lot thanks to it. I just can't help but thinking that I can achieve a greater look with an updated version.
