I got a fantastic reaction from the rep when I told her why I had wanted a waterproof pump. [emoji23]

The cannulas are a lot easier and less painful to insert than my previous pump, so that's an added bonus!

Today I'm happy bc I told my husband I wanted a mermaid tail... And he is helping me with wich tail to start. And he is taking me next summer to San Sebastian to have my first mermaid bath... And he is searching tutorials all night long to make a neoprene+sequin tail.

He is the most supportive man in the world.

Yesterday I told it to my best friend (a boy from Barcelona), and he said he'll love to carry me to the water.

Today I feel the most loved mermaid in the world. The two boys of my life are really positive with all this mermaid stuff. Thankies, guys. You are my pirate crew :pirate:

My Etsy will FINALLY be active again if not today then tomorrow. It's not for anything mermaid related this time which kinda stinks but hopefully what I'm going to sell will work out. I'm going to sell crochet hats like the white one in these pictures. It may not look like anything special but I've spent weeks creating an original pattern that allows the hat to only be in two pieces (the brim and the main hat) and I can make multiple sizes. I'm doing the final tests on the patterns to make sure they're consistent before I make a listing.

I've been having a not-so-dandy week or two, so I'll just keep in mind the happy things:

• I got a new job that pays well!
• I was hired to be a princess!
• Well, two princesses actually—Moana and Pocahontas.
• I mentioned my mermaiding, and they're willing to pay me to be one for parties as well!
• My band caught the attention of an A&R—Someone who scouts for talent for a record deal. He works for Virgin Records and Interscope Records.

-Finally getting some school things together. Starting my new job, while awesome, took away a bunch of mental energy that I'm getting back
-Been playing a bunch of Pokemon Moon and absolutely ADORE it!
-My first tail came in the mail today! Too cold to swim in it (indoor pools aren't really a thing here x.x) but I have it and it fits (maybe a bit big on the waist though)
-I just ate campbell's soup. Yay

I ordered a new tailskin from Fin Fun and will be attending MerMania 2017! I also opened a little Etsy shop for my metaphysical wares (tarot readings and glass bottle necklaces filled with semi-precious gems that have different healing properties).

There have been some terrible things this year, but I think these things make up for it, at least a little!

My dad bought me a new sewing machine for Christmas!!! It is a singer heavy duty 4423, which is what I learned on in my Costume Construction class in college. He won't let me open it until Christmas though. I really need it now though, trying to convince him to let me use it asap!!!

I just graduated college after majoring in graphic design and I have been feeling lost as to what I want to do now. Just today I was informed of a local job that I should see about getting. I was researching it tonight and I found out that one of the ladies working there previously worked at an aquarium as a mermaid! The job deals with a lot of ocean conservation as well. This is my second batch of ordering from them after she released her new collection and its so cute!

I even ordered the planner (hence ordering now before it sells out) to hopefully motivate me with everything since its for regular stuff, school, healthy eating, working out and has a lot of motivating quotes and whatnot in it ^^ plus its super cute with flowers and succulents on it! :yay:

But I'm pretty sure it'll arrive later tomorrow.

I'm already starting to see results (or I'm just noticing my new muscles from heavy lifting at work xD) but I'm feeling good about it. *fingers crossed*

The PIIT28 is pretty great. I still use it. I'm a dancer too and working on getting back my flexibility as well. Yoga has been helping a lot.

Excellent! So many people get one and end up breaking it because they don't realize it's a piece of precision machinery. I'm including classes for my daughter so she learns how to use it right! Good luck! (And I have the same socks!)

I just had three orders from Amazon come, including a new series that I only bought the first two books. Stayed up last night to finish them, decide to order the next three (thankfully it's already finished). Already have an email of shipping confirmation and they're set to arrive this Saturday :yay:

Well... it looks like I'm getting my Red Cross lifeguarding license ... again! I just got hired to lifeguard at Universal's new waterpark!

Also, I realized how much of the lifeguard mentality has seeped into my personality when I met everyone else who was taking the swim test with me- and EVERYONE there dressed the same way I did, acted the same way I did, and spoke the same way I did. It was like I was standing in a room full of clones- and I had never met any of these people before in my life. It was WEIRD.

I was playing basketball recently and I hurt my foot. I heard several pops when I landed on it sideways and I was really scared that I broke it. I started having all these thoughts about what if I can't mermaid again, etc. Luckily I didn't break anything it is just a sprain. I have been wearing a boot on my foot since Thursday and my foot is feeling a lot better today. Not only am I happy to be getting better, but I am happy that this happened during the winter when I hardly get to swim anyways. :)

On 2/28 a sweetheart stray showed up in my conplex. She's pregnant so I started leaving out food and water for her. No collar or microchip that I could feel (I can't drive so I couldn't have her scanned) but she was pretty clean (still kinds dirty though) and friendly for a stray cat. My guess knowing my neighborhood is some asshat abandoned her after they realized she was pregnant.

I put out a missing ad anyway and spread it around but no one came forward. A Facebook friend helped me get in touch with a rescue they have a connection with and immediately found her an experienced foster home. When Creamy showed up this morning I stuck her in the crate I used for my own cats and the foster mom came right over to get her.

Creamy now has her own room where she can give birth safely. Once she and the kittens are ready they will be put up for adoption and this foster mom actually already has two people on her adoption waiting list. She's going to send me pics and such when the kitties arrive.

In the meantime here's Creamy on my neighbor's porch and in her foster home room.

After years of social anxiety and over-exaggerated anti-social tendencies (after being ostracized in fourth grade after getting a kid kicked out of school) I hung out with some kids from my youth group last night. It turned into a sleepover where I actually had meaningful conversations and wasn't the odd one out the whole time. It's the first time I've been able to befriend a group of girls in my life.

I was even able to talk about mermaiding, which they'd heard of (!) and thought was awesome (!!!).

And almost as exciting, my mom is actually helping me out with my tail. I really thought she would disapprove, but she's helping me pick out Lycra and found some lovely Organza today. :)

Yay other Mahina mers! Faith, you are killing me with those photos. After getting my merfin in on Thursday I was planning on going to the college pool on Saturday to try out the fin. I was so excited and when I got up I checked the schedule online for the pool. It was closed all weekend! All the other indoor pools either were open at times that didn't work for me or I knew they would be too crowded. For some reason whenever I randomly decide to go swim at the college pool it is closed or a random swim meet that the schedule didn't mention is taking place. How does the Mahina handle in the water? So far I have read that it is feels different from other fins and it has some good power and maneuverability.

I am so antsy to swim with that fin!!!

I had bloodwork done and it confirmed the embryo transfer for surrogacy was successful! With my next payment I'm getting a sewing machine and sport lycra from Spoonflower to make a fabric tail prototype with original designs! If the tail for myself is successful I'm going to start looking for tail testers to put my work through more rigorous testing. My husband is 100% supportive and it makes me so happy.

He then ask if by any chance if I had a tail that goes with the monofin as he dream to teach a mermaid or merman how to be the best when he grows up. I had no intention of putting on the tail being the only adult guy in the pool but I did put the tail on because he clearly said it was his dream to teach a mermaid or merman. That kid actually knew some free diving technique and his tips actually got me to figure out how to equalize the pressure in my ear so I can easily lay on the bottom of the 12 foot section of the pool. I don't know how he learned what he knew but it was mostly definitely helpful to me. He thanked me for making his dream come true and I got the satisfaction that I inspired someone to become a merman. Some fantastic things have been happening in the past couple of months. All throughout 2016 I've been having serious problems with my mental health and it started to get dangerously bad towards the end of the year. I was able to bring myself to get help. I've been diagnosed with some stuff which didn't make me feel any better, went to therapy which I hated, multiple prescriptions... but in the end I got much better and I've come to terms with me being in the mental health system. I always thought of it as a weakness, but the more people I meet who struggle with things like this, the more I realize how normal of a thing it is, even with some of my more uncommon diagnosis.
I also switched to a new alternative school. Since this school is mainly for kids who had to drop out of the main district's high school because of grades (there are other reasons as well, such as in my case), they make it as stress free as possible. Theres only 45 kids so the classes are small and the teachers are absolutely fantastic. I'm getting back to how I used to be.

And finally, since I've gotten better I'm back here in the community. I know I've taken a very long break from both here and FaeNetwork (http://faenetwork.com/index.php?), but now Saelyyia and I are getting the site back up and running once again. I think that I left because the drama in the community was getting a little intense at the time, but I was also ill so I think that I was only seeing the drama, not the good side. I'm really glad that I'm back even though it's only been a couple of days. And I've even started working on my tail again!

I have to share this as this made me feel great. Yesterday I went to the pool by myself as there is plenty of skills to learn and to improve upon. I'm never a fan of doing anything by myself but I know I needed the practice for getting better at mermaiding. I put on my fin fun monofin and started swimming in the lap lane that happen to have a 12 feet deep end. I swam to the deep-end and took a dive. I stop at about 8 feet because I started feeling pressure on my ears as equalizing my ear was something I'm still trying to master. As I my head come out of the water, this 11 year old boy was looking as me excited. First thing he said was "you look like a merman swimming." He then ask if by any chance if I had a tail that goes with the monofin as he dream to teach a mermaid or merman how to be the best when he grows up. I had no intention of putting on the tail being the only adult guy in the pool but I did put the tail on because he clearly said it was his dream to teach a mermaid or merman. That kid actually knew some free diving technique and his tips actually got me to figure out how to equalize the pressure in my ear so I can easily lay on the bottom of the 12 foot section of the pool. I don't know how he learned what he knew but it was mostly definitely helpful to me. He thanked me for making his dream come true and I got the satisfaction that I inspired someone to become a merman. His mom even thank me for making his dream come true and she thinking about getting him a tail now.

I never heard of the FaeNetwork but I'm guessing it's the fairy version of the Mernetwork. I do wonder how many people crosses over the two forum. I remember a youtube video where Twig the Fairy was swimming in a tail and I thought it was great.

It was started by Kelda a little while ago until it was handed off To Saelyyia and I. I mainly code and design the site while Saelyyia really is the main admin, spreading the word and helping newcomers :)

Haha, I know a good couple of kids who aren't too happy to be there, but I chose to go. It was my art mentor (one of the people I trust most) who recommended it for my situation. It also give me time to focus on my career. Though I know that all schools are different :p I feel silly saying this but because my grades were fine at my old school (it was a college prep and AP school so it was very rigorous) I'm among the students with the highest academic achievements. Even though the school is meant to be extremely easy, it just makes me feel good just knowing that after my grades started to plummet towards the end of the year.

Here I thought today was going to the an ordinary boring Friday. I'm so glad I am wrong. This week started sour with one of my job cutting hours because of bankruptcy, burning out working 70 hours in a single week at both jobs, accidently bruising my head on on a hanger rack (only happen to tall people), and a being threaten by a coworker because I proved to him I do in fact work harder than him. But with all that, I'm so excited. None of that stuff matters now.

For about a month I've been trying to find a way to go to a spring and test out the hybrid tail. One of my older computer customer asked for help and I went to his house and helped him with the computer. I never charged him because his computer issue is so minor that I just can't honestly charge anyone that takes two click to fix. He notice that something was on my my mind and I told him I'm fine. He didn't believe me but saw my Mer of Lakeland folder on my laptop and asked what was that folder about. I explain that folder is all the pictures taken off my camera and my friend camera of our time swimming. He was confused about it but when she saw some of the video and the fact I was more relaxed showing them that he straight up asked why isn't there no spring pictures and only pool. I explain to him that the van I drive is good for in town but will overheat if driven for extended period and the nearest spring that isn't filled with fish poo is over 1.5 hours away. He thought about it for a moment and told me he can bring me on March 30th but he refuses to take any money for the trip because I never ever charged him for a computer job. He will allow me to buy him lunch.

This 80 year old guy told me he want to impress one if his lady friend in the trailer park so he bringing company. He want me to see if I can get some people to meetup to swim with me (mer meetup :D ) so I can get some spring pictures as he want to see me get big in Lakeland. I did explain to him I did have a more realistic looking tail that I want to bring to the spring and he was impressed with the picture of the tail made by Mazu. I can finally use that tail that day :D That one of the reason I'm excited. The other reason I'm excited is one of the mermaid going is one that I looked up to for awhile now. I'll let her reveal herself if she want to. Once I get out of work on Monday, I just need to go to the eye doctor place and use my eye insurance to order a new pair of glasses before that one job goes out from bankruptcy. Having the extra pair of glasses means I can have at least one picture with the glasses on swimming which I was inspired by Faithonthebass because she makes it look so natural swimming with them. Sorry for the large paragraph everyone but this made my whole month.

Just on a walking tour through the YMCA, I talked them into allowing monofins. That puts me one step closer to mer tails if I become a member there.

Congrats and I can relate. My hair is so dry and the ends get damaged so bad I have to cut at least 2 to 3 inches off every year. I really hope I can get my hair longer too. I am trying to resist from cutting it and it's finally getting down to the middle of my upper arm!

That's really cool that you were able to get it that long as well as have a goal to do Katara eventually! I loved watching ATLA when I was younger.

Since it's custom design fabric it'll take 9 to 12 days for my samples to be printed and another day or two to be shipped but I'm so excited! In spite of everything that happened to me yesterday (as noted in the B*tch it out thread) soon I'll be able to work on something that makes me truly happy.

Thanks! With the reviews I've seen from the sports lycra on Spoonflower it looks like they'll print almost true to color. It's mainly the darker designs I'm a little sketchy on (my own paranoia tbh) but getting a swatch sampler book will help out a lot. I always keep my PSD files so that anything that needs fixing can be adjusted easily.

Saturday, I came home from getting the second layer of shading done on a tattoo I got to cover an old one, and it was started in November, glad to have it finished. I told my husband the good news that the artist (who usually does incredible, custom, intricate and detailed work) will do a small, simple one for someone who's already a client. This means that I can get my Man from Atlantis symbol tattoo, one I've been wanting for years, in a few months. Right now, I've more important things to spend money on. But I don't want to go to just anyone, because a simple tattoo could still be so easily screwed up.

And yesterday was my birthday, and my husband felt bad for having to work, be on call at home, and not be able to take me out for dinner or such. So he starts looking for a pen, and get a marker from my daughter, then asks for my wrist. I reluctantly, but curiously, allowed him to draw on me. lol He drew the symbol where I want the tattoo. And then handed me the money for the tattoo (with his apologies that it wasn't in gift form). <3 Happy dance, now I just have to make the appt, and then my super aquatic nerdery will be on my wrist for all to see. :D

Yes, that's the one! I'm getting it on the inside of my left wrist. I was going to get it in teal, but the teal on my ankle did not hold as well as I'd like, so I'm going to get it in black, and that will match the symbol on his trunks, anyway.

I love Dr. Schubert, too. He's the perfect mix of camp and pompous intellect. I've got the DVD sets of the tv movies and series, and I rewatch it through a few times a year. I was my daughter's age (7) when I first saw and fell in love with it. He's why I started swimming in a way that in the mer world people call a dolphin kick. :D The little siren girl from the episode 'Siren' is so adorable with her little glowy sponge pet:

I signed up for trainings and one of the first things I'll be doing is helping with kids birthday parties to get some two-legged experience with them before trying them in a tail ;)

Plus they're building a new coral tank and its huge! And all I could think of was whether or not I could fit in it as a mermaid ;):eyebrows:

Just waiting for the internship though, didn't feel too good about that interview but we'll see.

Side non-mermaid note, I finally managed four rounds of my work out straight through -no stretch breaks!

Living with better health for the past few months has been nothing short of amazing.

Solving health mysteries- nothing like it. When one has to deal with PTSD and other things that affect the mental so strongly, ya really don't need physical crap to go with it. Being physically healthier has meant it's easier to deal with the other stuff I can't just fix with a blood test and changing some things.

Also happy about the weather getting warm enough for me to use the pool.... a cold water mer, I am not.

I had an awesome dream last night where I got this weird silicone tail, and somehow it din't have a monofin - it was actually hard silicone in the tail and it was super cool. I remember I got it from somewhere, but I can't remember. It was either red or purple, I can't remember which. I tried putting it on in a swimming pool, even though my family doesn't have one, and it was awesome. I could actually feel what it's like to swim in a monofin or tail. All I was able to do was tread water upright, but I couldn't because every time I tried I would be flopping everywhere up and down, in the pool. And the best part was that once my mom found out, I was able to actually explain it to her.

How one of my friends was into mermaids and other fantasy stuff, and got me hooked watching H20, and let me borrow one of her old tails, etc. And she actually understood, and was okay with it. I doubt that's going to happen in real life any time soon, I'm afraid to even skirt the topic. I also did a reality check, though I didn't go lucid. :DSo having a happy dream? That makes me happy.

I am almost done with my student teaching program and I just received ALL of the documentation I have been waiting on! I am all set to get my teaching credential! Finally! This was THE HARDEST thing I have ever done, and if you know me irl, you know how hard i worked and how much I failed before I was able to succeed. I am so unapologetically proud of myself. And while it was the most strenuous and difficult thing I have done, it has also been the most rewarding and fun.

I had my first powered aircraft flight today!! :yay: :yay: :yay: My instructor was really nice, he let me take off, land and try some turns and stuff. He basically let me fly the plane for the whole flight! :yay: We also did some stunts like the barrel roll, stall turn and the classic loop. I can get my recreational pilot's licence at 16 so I'm working towards it! Flying the aircraft felt very natural for me and I was perfectly relaxed :)

He basically let me fly the plane for the whole flight! :yay: We also did some stunts like the barrel roll, stall turn and the classic loop. I can get my recreational pilot's licence at 16 so I'm working towards it! Flying the aircraft felt very natural for me and I was perfectly relaxed :)

I'm going to an extreme sports camp in a few weeks! My scout troop put together a list of activities for our summer campout, and I get to do water skiing, paddleboarding, kayaking, boating, mountain biking, and also long range rifle shooting. And I got my Life Scout award a few days ago, so I'm on track to earn my Eagle Scout Award! Less than 6 months until I can get it now.

Just got back my lab results from blood tests, and I gotta celebrate that I've got almost perfect labs. Vegetarians gotta watch their protein, but my protein levels are well within the recommended range, as our my cholesterol, A1C, kidneys, calcium, and more. We're renting, too. And while it is expensive, we got super lucky in that this landlord could easily charge another thousand for the place in the current market, and isn't. We signed a year lease, so we're at least locked in to the good price we got. We looked at several houses and some condos, and the prices are all outrageous.

I actually looked in Coronado- I really love it there. But, my husband will already have quite the commute to his office from where we're moving, and adding the extra time to Coronado, esp on the 5 at traffic time? I can't even ask him to do that. We visit a lot, take walks around the Del, eat at The Tavern. I love how clean Coronado is. lol And the beach are near where his office is in Carlsbad... coastal north county is far more expensive than coastal San Diego proper. We couldn't find anything up near the office. And I want to be back where the places I love are, anyway.

Incidentally, we've been looking for several months. All the houses (what few are available, thanks to illegal short term vacation rentals destroying communities all over San Diego) and condos are around the same price range right now, unless you want to go far into east county and even there the prices are pretty bad for anything over 800 sq ft. San Diego rents are just awful right now, with no sign of relenting.

Was at Alexander Springs here in Florida at for a small gathering with Siren Cedes and Zeldamanic. Both are excellent mermaids. What makes this belong in the happy thread is because Siren Cedes accidently might had gotten me a job by accident with a dive company because she was swimming around the divers and interacting with them. They asked would I be interested to being hired on to have a mer at the practice dives. It's still in their deciding stages but I'm crossing my fins this becomes official.

Me, I'd be doing a freakin' happy dance right now if my lungs were not so bad today. New landlord gave us the lockbox combination, we get our keys Monday. :dance: So I've started tearing down things here where we are still living, going through boxes, packing, and the dust has my lungs in rebellion, but WOOOHOOO I'll be back in the salt air soon. Almost have all the body of my neoprene base for my sequin tail sewn back together, I just need to sew the back section on that has the zipper attached to it. My mom ended up having to do it because she has better skills with sewing machines, but I'm super happy to have it almost all done!

Finally got some time for myself...

The 13th of May our baby son was born, after 40 weeks and 6 days. Everything we had wanted/planned went different. I wanted to give birth at home, but it became the hospital because the labor pain got out of control. When he was finally born, he got an infection so he had to go on antibiotics, which had us stay at the hospital for a week. They did some tests on his blood work, but it showed nothing, so it's a riddle why he had signs of an infection.

But now we are home with a healthy son, his name is Ilvar, his weight was 4140gram and length was 50cm

Memorial Day just passed, meaning the outdoor pool near my house is now open! I swam there in my Fin Fun tail yesterday and let a ten-year-old I'm acquainted with try it out. (Don't worry, I knew her from the swim team so I was pretty sure she'd be an adept enough swimmer to be safe, but I kept a close eye on her.) She was so excited and I heard her telling her parents that she wants one for her upcoming birthday.

I went on a spontaneous trip to the beach with my family today. My husband and daughter (who apparently does NOT like the beach as much as her mommy) stayed on the sand while I went out swimming with my snorkeling goggles (they make me feel super buoyant but I need something for my eyes). When I swam out in the deeper water I accidentally swam straight into a huge shoal of silver fish! Watching all those fish swim circles around me was an incredible feeling and a secret dream of mine for AGES. I didn't get to do it in a tail or monotone but it was still a lot of fun.

Also, I FINALLY have orientation for my new job Thursday morning. Once I start working I plan on putting a little bit of each paycheck aside so I can start doing the fabric swatches for my tail designs again. I've redesigned all my scale and fluke patterns (the Finis Wave fluke patterns, anyway) so they'll hopefully translate to fabric better. If Spoonflower ends up a bust again I'm going to try out a different site.

That was about 20 miles south of where I am, and pretty rare. :) It's funny though, because I was just telling my daughter about how rare shark sightings are in San Diego, compared to some other places. lol And boom, shark's all, "I'll just pass by south of you and say hi."

I recall it being discussed before, but the add on costs quite a bit more, and there was concern about it causing issues because people can take not getting 'likes' rather personally and then there are always those who will think that's stupid, and blah blah and so on. I've been on forums where there were 'thanks' buttons, and that was pretty cool. One forum also experimented with a sort of 'dislike' and 'boo' and one gal designed the little boo button to be a ghost. hah, that was cute. In the end though, on that forum, it was decided anything other than 'thanks' would cause too much drama and the idea was abandoned. The thanks button remained, and it was really nice to have that.

My happy today is that it's so nice to be back in my old neighborhood. First, it's hot and sunny in much of the county, but here it's been cool and overcast all day. Then I was able to watch the fog roll in, which was so nice. I've missed that. Then a very handsome fellow with blue stripes and such all over him walked up to our door to ask if someone else still lived here, and he was very nice. He also had unlit firefans in his hand.

I seriously love this place, and am so glad to be back. AND I am stoked to think I should be able to get back to fluke sculpting next week! Now that school's done for a while, and I don't have to homeschool, and have more time to do my own thing. ::happy dance::

I forgot to post this close to when it first happened, but around 3 weeks ago I tried opening my eyes in a chlorine pool (didn't have my goggles XD ) and was actually able to do it! And for a pretty decent (to me) amount of time too! I just always thoughts I was one of those people that just couldn't open their eyes underwater. Yay! I'm wrong! Can't wait to start practicing more!

For the last year or so I have been doing tons of research, reading here, watching videos, collecting mermaid materials, etc. I have amassed a collection of shells, beads, sequins, pearl ex, silicone caulking, e6000, shelf liner, iridescent mylar sheeting, 2mm neoprene, etc. At one time, I attempted to make a walking tail from that reversible mermaid sequin fabric, and learned that it stretches the wrong way. LOL.
I tend to pop in and out, disappearing for long periods. I just want to say, this whole forum has been extremely helpful and uplifting. And for the first time in almost 40 years, I have a solid direction with my creativity. I make all kinds of things, costume and art-wise. But I have always bounced around from project area to project area. Almost everything I do can somehow be applied to mermaiding. It seems like my whole life has been condensing down to this. I wanted to lose weight, but I am really tired of waiting. So I'm just going to do this. I do need to get out of Missouri though. LOL

I'm personally happy with myself. I found a way to report blocked content on facebook without having access to it. You don't even need to have a facebook account to do it. The main reason it makes me happy is not so much I was able to request an album to be taken down, it's the fact the process is so easy that anyone can request to have their pictures and such taken down if someone steals and block them from see it. It's basically a new way we can protect our pictures and video if a mervert or collector takes them. I still will stress the important to watermark. This a a personal victory for me :)

And, even better, but there's pools near me that will accept me swimming in my tail! No gator-infested lakes for me !

We finally got enough money to have our own screen house and glider/swinging bench so that I can spend more time outside, so hopefully that helps change my health for the better! Sunshine is always good for chasing away all the bad stuff, am I right?

Her name is Annabelle and she is a syrian hamster from the petsmart by my work. My parents said no to getting any pets until after our dog dies, but I rebelled and got her anyway. My mom was super pissed and my dad was super annoyed, he didn't start yelling until he learned I overdrew my bank account by a couple dollars. But he got over it and this morning got the hamster supplies from the previous hamsters we had when I was little down from the attic. The stuff needs to be cleaned and sanitized still which I'll do a bit later because it's 109° right now. I'm also excited because I'm taking a ceramic class as a fun college class this semester and I brought home some clay to make a bunch of little hamster food bowls.

More good news! I finally have a free weekend to go swimming! Usually i work every single weekend and refuse to take off because lets just say i pay $700/month in rent.... So my boss finally told me to take a break (which I'm getting paid for thank god) now if only i could figure out how to set up my go pro in the lap lanes when it's a super deep pool

Here is my mom fixing the drawing of the fluke for my silicone tail I’ll be making! We decided to make it smaller. My dad also offered to buy me two of those big hard plastic folding tables so I can sculpt my fluke out in the garage and not have to sculpt on the floor and hurt my knees and back.

I got my first car! This is kind of a big deal for me coming from a very financially insecure background and failing my license 5 times before passing. I have a job interview tomorrow for a possible full time position for a live Audio Visual company that's downtown so its a good thing I finally have a car! Shes a pretty average car, a 2000 honda civic but I'm very excited - especially as its purple! If all goes well, I won't have to be teaching swimming lessons as much and getting more into the field of my dreams!

I got a job working at JoAnns! I’ve been there three days now and its hard work but i love it. Im a seasonal hire but fingers crossed that i can work hard and stay on so i have a job when i graduate in the spring. :D

Well a few good things have been happening on my end lately, mostly to do with business startup stuff and some really wonderful reactions I got on monday at the pool when a few different families saw my mermaid tail :D they were so sweet!

But today while I've been struggling to work on doing research for business stuff, my mum came back in from college and it turns out my aunt had found a monofin someone was getting rid of, so she got it for me! It's a child size finis wave so not one I'd use personally but it'll really come in handy in the future if we decide to try teaching kids, or if my particularly small friend gets into mermaiding XD Yay for free equipment!

I totally should've said this sooner but I'm seriously happy, on thursday a local pool basically said an initial yes to having me provide party services as a mermaid, and they invited me to their New Year party to do some promotional swimming! It's actually on my birthday rather than New Year's Eve or Day, which makes it a really fun thing to be doing that day :D

I'm an Eaglescout now! I also ordered and got the supplies to start my scale maille armor! And I'm happy because I got to play board games with some of my close friends last night, and I got a cool octopus poster set from Made With Tone, an awesome charity that helps teach music to children. There's so many cool things that have been happening lately, and it makes me so happy. It's really easy to get lost in the funk and only see the negative, but I'm so glad I'm not there anymore.

Thanks! I'm just glad it's over at this point, haha. I started scouts way back when I was six in cubscouts. And now it's been twelve years, and I don't have to fill out any merit badge packets, or attend meetings. It's amazing!
