My cousin took these! The water was freezing 50 -60degrees or so) and it was just as cold, BUT it easy totally worth it! I was on one breath from end of the pool to the other! I loved it!

We still had a blast and I was happy to finally get some pictures in my silicone tail!! It might be Alexander springs. Florida has a lot of springs throughout the state and supposedly Florida has the largest concentration of freshwater springs on earth. All of them (at least if they are maintained/conserved well) have crystal clear water.

Yep, I've changed a bit since then, unfortunately. A medicine that I've been taking (and thankfully will be finishing this month!) has caused me to gain roughly 60 pounds. That's something like half of my old weight. I suppose I look a little different because of it. :P

Yes it is. I'd actually plan on slowly replacing them with darker sequins since I originally planned on my tail being blue,green,and gold. I only used the white ones because I was getting impatient with the 12mm sequins and I found the white in 14mm and even then I was impatient so I used 22mm for most of the back and top.

So, A few weeks ago I was part of a videoclip in which I was an extra, together with 4 other free divers. It's not with mermaids, but I'm so damn proud of this!
I'm the one in the underwater shots with the white tank-top and dark hair. The song is sung in Dutch, and actually not my style at all, but it was so much fun to do! Even confronted my fear of dancing :)
It's also incredible to work with the World Champion freediver Jeanine Grasmeijer. :D

No, not really. To capture both me and the fireworks we had to use a camera that had the ability to do long exposure. So the deal with that is the camera takes in as much light as it can over an amount of time - if you move at all you will blur. So my tail looking translucent and my face looking a bit off is because I'm trying to stay as still as possible as the picture is being taken. It takes a few seconds. :)

So you have all those certificates that the dive towers require?
There's several apnea/scuba certifications, recent health certificates, etc?

They wanted to see so much stuff I went "know what, screw this" in the end, and simply dived in a lake lol
(double as deep as their tower is, too).

Anyway, cool video.
It's funny to see you going down there casually while everyone else is in their scuba getup and breathers :p

I never asked if a tail was okay. I just did it.

And I never had a lot of trouble, it's just giving my freedive certificate (which will be returned to you when you leave) and filling in a form for your health certificate. (which is basically answering 31 times 'no' to all questions) That's it. :)

I wish I could dive in lakes, but that's way to cold right now haha.

I just got back from a 4-day vacation in Okinawa and I got to have my first ever photoshoot in my tail with an AMAZING photographer who worked with me and did the shoot TFP. I left the shoot walking on a cloud! She was really awesome and even took us to a special "lagoon" spot. Then proceeded to direct me (which I love because I take direction well, but am nto very good at knowing what to do off hand). And we just had a really fun time and from the pictures she showed me and from what I've seen of her portfolio, I know they will come out beautiful. Only downside is that due to the timeframe and the holidays fast approaching, I won't see the finished product until after the new Year. But that's a very minor setback.

Mermaid Nyxe that's an amazing job you did on the makeup! The prosthetics, are they reusable silicone? Including the scales on her arm? But those gills blend so well into her skin it's incredible. Great job I'm really floored!

Thanks Saren! Unfortunately they are not reusable. I use slacker to make the skin safe silicone more flexible so it flows better with movement. However it does not survive the stickiness of the glue when you want to remove them [emoji14] No worries! I got all the molds to remake them super fast!

Have you been there before? It made me super sad. The falls are gorgeous and then people went and ruined them by graffiting all over them. And there's trash and bottles and stuff in the water. :(

where did you get your tails?? i am finding myself rather conflected when it comes to choosing whom i want my tail done by. but they are stunning
