Leina, Katey - this is indeed a delfina tail. I had some problems with the fin (there are no pockets for the feet?) but otherwise it's lovely. I will add chrome gold side- and backfins, as well as sequins at the top to create a blended waist. :) thanks for the comments!

Finally got some photos back from a shoot i did at the Kalahari Resort during ColossalCon 2016.
I was super super sunburned during this shoot. The photographer did as much as he could to balance the redness without dramatically changing the photos. I've decided to embrace being a pink mermaid [emoji41][emoji225]

almost all of my photos are done by the husband on his cell phone, then I send my favorites to my phone where I do very basic editing. I purposely go for that over bright look by upping the color, brightness, and black point a bit. One of these days I'm going to have an actual photoshoot done with real editing haha

Thanks for asking how it went! It was tons of fun. It took about an hour. I showed up with multiple types of jewelry to change into, but only changed one item during the shoot. They didn't really do anything to my makeup or hair (except help me re-braid the braids) so, I would come 100% ready. They asked my bra size, showed me the tops that I should choose from and I picked two, then settled on the one we all agreed looked the best. Then the hardest part- putting on the tail! I have never worn a tail EVER, so, it was so new and amazing to have it all happen together!
They helped me learn how to breathe out all my air ahead of submerging so I wouldn't blow out bubbles while the pics were being shot. You have to empty your lungs basically before going under- which is kind of counter intuitive, but makes sense for pics. They did not contact me until a week before the shoot, so don't get too nervous. When they sent me the address, I GoogleEarthed it so I would know what the pool and the house looked like from the front. It helped me a lot. It was a lovely small pool, but 9' at the deep end. At the 3/4 mark, I was diving doing twirls and just letting loose. They said those turned out well. I should have shots w/notes in 2-3 weeks to choose from. They had a great way of being very calming and supportive. I let them know I was nervous from the start! I hope they turned out better than I am imagining they did.

Oh awesome! Thank you so much! The closest one to me is Chicago. Do you know if this is a volunteer thing or is it actually like a gig with pay??? Just curious. :)

You pay to get the photo shoot. They donate part of the money to Save Our Oceans (or something like that, on the website, can't remember this minute). It costs about $550.00 for either a land or underwater shoot. I wanted underwater to try swimming in the tail. You get to choose the pic that you want edited/photoshopped, then they make you a print. Additional prints are $75.00. I thought (for myself, who is wanting to invest in a tail, but not sure about the investment) it was a good first try. Now, I kind of know better what level of Mermaiding I am will to jump in at...lol. I am planning to invest in the Mahina monofin (love the look and the way it is built looks good) and make fabric covers at first. IF I want to jump up to the next level, I would use the same fin, just make a neoprene cover, with caulking covering for scales, but make it so I can interchange it any time I want. Seems to be the most reasonable to me. So, the shoot really helped me make some other decisions about how much MORE $$ I am willing to spend on tails, etc.

Last weekend myself and fellow merfolk from California met at Zephyr Cove, Lake Tahoe for a photo shoot.

So as a few folks know, Seaglass and her husband are visiting me for the week for their 2-year anniversary! :D So we've been running around and being goofy mersisters and hitting up all the local touristy stuff and yesterday we had our first chance to go mermaiding together at Manuels River! I'd bought a submersible phone case for a snorkeling-with-whales trip we went on earlier in the week, and I figured we could use it for the mermaiding thing, too!

Some of the pics came out a little funny because of the clear covering on the phone case, but overall I'm pretty proud of how they turned out. :D

We have an actual professional photoshoot on Friday, but here's these silly ones we took on our own in the meantime!

Had a little pod meetup at the beach on one of the local islands. Unfortunately didn't get a shot of all three of us, due to the lack of anyone with legs to take photos xD, but I did get a few nice shots of me in my tail. (Thanks Mermaid Chrissa :3 )

Also: if you don't live around here you might not understand but sand beaches in this area are so rare. I haven't been swimming at one in years. Mm, warm sand.

Some behind-the-scenes pics from mine and SeaGlass's photoshoot last week! <3 The photographer, who I've known for a few years, was AWESOME to work with and she was SO excited to get the chance to do a mermaid shoot! We got to see previews of the photos she took on her camera while we were drying off on the riverbank, and they look AMAZING even without any post-editing! I am seriously so stoked to see them when they're finished!

Sooo I received my monofin yesterday and I found a cosy little salt water bathing pool nearby....it was so much fun swimming with it! I swam through the water so fast. Even heard a little kid shout "there's a mermaid!!" Which really made me smile :)

So my friend who isn't on the forum came up to visit me yesterday. She is getting her first tail soon from Merbella but she'd never seen a silicone tail in person before so I introduced her to my old starry night tail and she tried it on. It was way too short and a little tight but she demanded we take her to the beach for photos. It was raining and cold but the smile on her face is the most priceless thing and I was so happy to see her so excited about being in a tail. Seriously it's why I love this hobby so much. I cant remember if we are allowed to post non tail photos here or if there is another. Please let me know if this is the wrong place and I will move it. I wanted to share a couple pics from today. I was so disappointed we didnt' have alot of snow when they predicted 4-6 inches here in Raleigh. Anyhow, I sucked it up anyway, and coerced my 11 yr daughter to take my pictures. LOL These are edited in photohop. They are not the best poses, however, it was only 22 degrees out today and we had to work fast and it is hard when I can't see what I am doing. oh how I wish I had my Mythic tail, or I would have been doing mermaid pics instead of dance pics :lol:

Thanks Pearlie! I was so excited when we were supposed to get a bunch of snow, b/c the last time I did snow goddess pics was 2010. LOL. but was very disappointed..sigh. I was going to do my Organic Armor set, but I decided to wait until more snow. I think that would look much better with more 'white' in the background.

Thank you very much... Concerning the mask it's a latex one i made cause we want a super-hero look for these show... And they want me to interact with children so i wear diving glasses under... ;)

Sadly it also has a similar learning curve, and just for scaling down a picture I think it's quite overkill (although I too use it for that purpose at times). Please don't get me wrong here, I really, really love GIMP, it is only sometimes like using a high-tech food processor just for cutting onions.

On Windows I found another quite nice program called IrfanView. Apart from just being a viewer, it can do basic editing like format conversion, cropping and scaling. Plus, it has a batch mode, so you can convert a whole folder of pictures in one go. It is freeware (sadly not open-source like GIMP, and not for Raspberry Pi, so GIMP it is there, even if it's overkill), at least for personal use. For details on commercial use please see the documentation (I think for commercial use it has a slight registration fee, around 10$-ish, if I'm not mistaken).

Keep in mind while looking at that last pictures that I eat about 5 to 6 meals a day on average. That why I call myself Slim and feel there isn't a better mername that could fit me any better. I do want to know everyone opinion if wearing the shirt helps my style or hurts it. I like having the shirt on but I don't look at myself. I do eventually want to get into the merbusiness so I want to rock the best style possible. One other question, would wearing my glasses with the shirt be the best style for me? I know how well Faithonthebass rocks that style in her video and it has me considering it a lot. I don't want to copy her unique style.

I went mermaiding this morning with a friend so I got more pictures. I let her borrow my tail as she always dreamed of being a mermaid and I got permission to post her picture here too. That feeling that of becoming someone bucket list helper is wonderful. It gives me for reason to make this a business to make dreams come true.
