It took me 3 months to complete my baby but it's done and I did a photo shoot some time ago and finally received my first edited picture, I'll share non photoshopped pictures too because the colors are different.

Hope everybody likes them, I am really pleased with it. (sorry if most of you don't know me, I've been on this forum some time and I'm kinda shy so I don't comment on threads so much, but I do follow and read ALOT of them and am loving all the inspiration and kindness that is shared here)

thanks Jessica! it took 8 hours a day for 3 months and I sewed each one individually on the fabric. I'm glad I inspired you to finish your tail and I can't wait to see the finished product!

I wish to have a silicone tail one day but untill then I'm very pleased with what I got now :-)

Thanks very much ! I'm really happy with them - theres a few more on my personal fb account - www.facebook.com/LadyMelanieLong - glad you liked them ! Yes Miyu - Special fins custom cut the mermaid shape ! and they custom make the foot pockets to fit your feet perfectly ! ... compared to the hydra fin this fin goes super fast ! - i got it to put into my silicone tail ... kinda wish i could have one just for free diving cuz it feels so awesome to swim with lol

Thanks! XD Ginnie springs is awesome for a "wilderness" look while shooting tails. At least when its been cold and the only people out there are you, a guy snorkeling, a couple cave divers, and a canoeing group. I practically had the whole spring to myself!

@Arion- I cant wait to swim in my new merbella tail! Shes been so super awesome throughout the process!

I am patiently waiting for my Merbella tail, but in the meantime I made a Neoprene one and painted it. I posted progress pics somewhere, but finally did some real photos today. This was my first attempt at Neoprene and painting. ( I had my visit to the hair salon, and I always use that opportunity to do a photo shoot, while my hair looks cute and all) LOL. I did these in my studio and had my 8 year old daughter take them. It is always a challenge as I have to direct everything and it is hard when I am stuck in one spot and just point and tell her what to do. She did great though and at the end I gave her freedom to do what she wanted, so she did the one and cut off my head on purpose b/c she was doing an 'artistic shot'. LOL. I made both tops, which are in progress, the necklace, headband and hair clip

After a few false starts (Kinnickinnic State Park beach was flooded out, couldn't park anywhere on the Hudson, WI riverfront because it was prom night :doh:), we successfully tiptoed through goose poop to a waterside spot in Willow River State Park near our home. This picture is very special to me.
It was taken right by Aquarena springs, where I first fell in love with mermaids and clear water. It is one of my favorite places on earth.

The plants are Texas wild-rice. It's is an aquatic perennial grass found only in the upper two miles of the clear, flowing spring-fed waters of the San Marcos River!

Wild rice is endangered because the river water is being impacted by the growth of the city of San Marcos.

When swimming you have to be very gentle and never pull it up or stand on it!

Wish we'd had a picnic basket. Could've made it a "I don't eat fish" photo, lol. (And the turkey vultures swooping around in that picnic ground would have added ambience.

We went to the beach this week and I did some photos in my new Merbella tail!! I am so excited. I gave my husband my camera and hoped for the best. LOL. I did alot of editing in Photoshop, but overall, he did a great job. These were taken around 8 pm at sunset and was a challenge as the lighting kept changing and the water was pretty cold. LOL

So heres some shots from a wedding/ underwater shoot I did at Koh Tachai north of the Similan Islands in the Andaman Sea - Cant post any underwater ones yet as the photographer has submitted them to a magazine, so waiting to see if they will make it in there. These are some shots we took on the beach - the sand is so fine and soft that at the shoreline it makes the water kind of milky and its really beautiful. Tog - Lanna Olsson / Janna McGeachy. We did lagoon and seashore photoshoots in Gulf Shores, AL, this week. I have a new respect for this kind of photography! The lagoon shoot was fun, but too murky for good underwater video (though we got a little). We enjoyed seeing a ray scoot past us, but held really still, in case it was a stingray. When the tide started to go out, I had to skeedaddle to avoid being dragged out to sea. At the beach shoot, 25 mph winds, sun in my eyes, and sunscreen failure made for a miserable working environment!

But, hey, we got some pics! :-)

It would make it worse going from hot to cold as your body will know the warmth more and heat up a little so anything colder would feel ever colder.
I went from a nice heated pool to a non heated and I was freezing. Next day, hopped into non heated first and it felt warmer than the day before because I didn't try to get used to the warm waters first.

Best to go from colder to cold lol. I'm my opinion at least.
