I just want to state, I was sent her screen shots but it's not my place to post someone else's private conversation in here, they were forwarded to Iona who also agreed he was merely responding to what she'd put out, and in a sincere polite and respectful way. He even when so far as to explain WHY he thought she was in into him for goodness sake.

After seeing her behaviour in some FB groups it just seems like there's an issue with authority and respecting rules, and that rules aren't personal nor are they up for debate. Enforcing the rules we all agree to isn't bullying. But labelling an innocent boy a mervert all over the internet, is.

Mermaid Annabella, just stop blaming Raina. Yes she famous but like you and I, she also human and our fame doesn't really follow us outside the community. Yes someone else did originally complain about him before and they didn't have proof. The "proof" you had wasn't enough and I told you that there has to be more than that for anything. I even told you it would be best to drop it unless you had more proof than what was shown because this isn't a battle worth fighting at the moment as you needed "proof" than what you had. You choose not to listen to me so it's not entirely her fault. It takes two to tangle and you choose to take out those dancing shoes and tangle when you decide to not listen. Let's go with the fact you didn't know the person had autism, a person with no disorder/handicap would had consider the person was trying to be nice. Nothing in those 4 screenshot showed obsessiveness. The thing about being famous is it can happen to anyone. You can use your grudge against her and become better than her. It's actually easier than what you think because you got more free time to be a helpful member in the community unlike Raina who has a full time job including gigs almost every weekend that takes away her time. Time is your friend on this. Just remember her being famous also works against her if you remember that enough people try to blame her for Mermania which she had no control on.

Just one final piece of advice, don't consider this as having a destroy reputation in the community. This community does allow 2nd chances but will not give it if everyone sees grudges toward another mer. Two people tried to dragged me into this thread in the past (one even falsely accused me in that other thread) and I survived with my reputation being repaired.

Why is it in this thread? It's because she a mermaid who once read the threads in this forum and it's obvious some of those pictures were photoshop and I don't like it when other mers take credit from other people work. She never swam with an elephant name Raja and I don't see joetsm credit on the whale shark picture. Sorry if this sounds more like a rant she not even giving credit to the people she takes the animals pictures on the web that she puts on her Facebook page. I hate it when people (including people as big as her) takes a free ride from other people work for the sake of staying relevant. We taught her everything we knew, and Raven lent her a tail she had made (back in the alex plus days) as Melissa had no tail, and booked her for some gigs with her.
Then Melissa paid Adam Martyn (a known scammer) something like 4k for a tail and he ran off with her money.
I helped her launch a public campaign against him and basically supported her daily in the matter (I still have all the emails!)

She made up with mertailor after she got a tail from MVD and after we both promoted her and helped her so much, pretty much turned on us. I found out she admitted to people she was just using me which really hurt because I actually did consider her a friend and cared about her, and you know me since she was scammed I went all in to help.

We all parted ways, she decided to label herself the "world's best" and doesn't understand how to use online stuff very well so has her sister manage stuff.

She got into the youtube bubble just in the right time and got her videos viral with her sisters help, so most of her income comes from monetizing that.

The photos are totally stolen and photoshopped to make it seem like she's done things she hasnt (aka swim with an elephant, swim with whalesharks etc)

She copied whole sections of my book and put it on her website

There was some drama (all documented with proof on a thread here) that she edited the "mermaiding" wikipedia page and made it all about her and the few things she left about others like Hannah? she changed the citations to point to HER website. So some forum members got together and fixed it. (sister does all this stuff for her)

Anytime I, Linden or Hannah get in the news, she copies our SEO keywords for our businesses and pays to have them promoted for her own website on google. So if I get a big news coverage and you go to google me, my specific business name and tabs comes up on her website!

It's all just really sneaky and frustrating that she rides everyone else's "coat tails" and exploits people, but is seen as an industry leader. The sad thing is SHE HAS TALENT and should rely on that!

Sorry to dredge that up, she was one of my inspirations as a freediver -- her 4-5-minute breath holds helped me set my own targets for static apnea.

I do grit my teeth when I see self-proclaimed 'first' or 'world's-best'. Because mermaiding is just so cool and graceful to outsiders, too many can do this and get away with it.

I notice that your tactic is to use a person's words and feelings against them, and then try to spin it so you look better. You should quit now. Really. I can and will back up every single thing I have ever said and done, and I was trying NOT to do what you are now doing. But I will not allow you to smear my name, just because I was not the free ride you were looking for. Do you want to continue? It's Friday evening, and I have the whole weekend. here’s the photo of the case number for the police report that my employer filed. They called the police on Jason when he called and left his name. The information is in the report. Go check it out for yourself. I’ve stayed quiet and out of this because I’ve had three panic attacks thanks to his actions. I believe this was all over and done with months ago then I came into work the other day and they asked me “do you know a Jason?”
I nearly fell to the floor right then and there.

She was being aggressive and predatory with sellers and harassing them to lower their prices, then turned around and was selling what she bought for up to ten times what she paid (like that Hot Topic Ariel purse she tried to sell for $200)

She might take up half or more of the tv/couch area with her cloth, and I might swamp her sewing area with the plastic sheets for fin cutting from time to time, but we take GREAT care to not muss each other up!

yeah, if I remember correctly the movie (it was a sequel, the first one was ok but was more of a straight to DVD quality so they didn't get greenlit for a sequel without a lot of funding) offered an extra part, like maybe a week of work, for $4500 (travel, food and lodging not included)
So she thought that she would actually be able to meet the director/actors and talk to them. Obviously never worked as an extra before.

Annabella seems to have made $100 from her fundraiser and did not contribute to the movie fundraiser, as they had four fan donations totaling $105, and since they didn't get their goal each of those backers got their money back. Anna kept hers.
I'd also like to point out that she didn't provide proof that the funds raised from her fundraiser boxes for Hurricane relief in PR actually went there either.

I've learned over the years dealing with my craft being destroyed that often the second round produces better results, and sometimes even reveals any issues we may have overlooked in the first run through. It's frustrating as hell sure, you had spent all those hours working on that fluke sculpt! I've found that putting stacks of things close to knee height near something I don't want folks near works sometimes, as most people will reflexively skirt around the taller obstacles. Could be as simple as a box or drying rack. It's going out of your way to protect your work, something you shouldn't have to worry about in your own home, but accidents do tend to happen, or intentional sabotage. One of the reasons I refuse to post any work at my job - it'll either be picked apart by kids, or sabotaged by coworkers via their own mishandling, or not preventing grubby little sticky grimy gross fingers from getting all over the shiny pretty piece. Roommate's lost a couple cosplay costumes and props she made herself that way.

The other thing is that I've found behaving in the way you did around the things I protected ended up in driving almost everyone out of my life. This stemmed back to freaking elementary school with no real social skills. It's not fun... What's more rewarding is finding those people that actually do respect what you do. It's one reason me and my roommate work with each other - we know how protective we are of our brain babies. I know full well she'll pelt a pillow or a pen at me if I fudge up her fabric with a miss-step. Generally though, if the friend is a regular visitor, and knows full well, it could be that they weren't true friend material, or it was an honest accident. I wasn't there to witness, so I can't say which would be accurate. All I know is it's rather miserable not being able to have any companionship to share joy with. He used to come to my house daily and the sculpt doesn’t move from its regular resting place under the fishtank but it’s a large sculpt so it’s not fully covered by it, the apartment is small so there isn’t space for me to be placing tables and shit on my moms living room or she would kill me lol, and it’s not like i stabbed him with a knife inches deep it was a simple quick poke with a needle tool like getting pinched while sowing, also that was just the drop that overflowed the damm there was some tension already for some attitude he gave my mom and I wasn’t happy about it so he later stepped on the sculpt he’s been seeing there seance it’s dawn and casually steps on it while I’m not there I return from the kitchen with some food for the both of us and tragically the corner had a footprint omg I was like “ yo nigga what happened to his it was fine earlier”. He said “ I was looking out he window and I stepped on it”. I said “ nigga how manny times u been here I’ve even helped me with it sometimes, you know what’s next right?, I grabbed the tool and poked him on the thigh hard enough to draw blood but not deeper than half an inc, he saw me do the same to my brother when he tried playing me for a bitch saying he would squish my fin and I told him he would be stabbed he squished it cause he thought I wouldn’t do it but he knew he was wrong when he felt it in his thigh, there’s no excuse if so one says if you move I will shoot I sure as hell will not even breath, and ...

Pearlie Mae first of all I’m not bragging this thread is for venting drama so I utilized it to ent what was my current situation nooo bragging just venting , and I mentioned the martial arts because u come out the reef saying I’m gon get my ass kicked by who tell me please cause I’m waiting, there was no need for your sass and rudeness I actually respect you and consider you someone I look up to as a Mer but I guess your not so sweet after all.

I’m SPECULATING here but I will not be shocked if it was the “who name shall not be mentioned” but I’ll call her Voldemort did the DOS Attack on this site. I say this for a couple reasons.

1. There is a popularity contest which shows in Yuki screenshot. On Wednesday morning about 2am, there was a 3 way tie and I saw my friend on there. I asked all my exes to like my friend photo which brought my friend in the lead with 17 likes. Between 10am to noon, Voldemort gained over 80 foreign likes. She bought fake reviews and likes for her page so this doesn’t shock me she’d buy likes for a popularity contest.

2. I learned on Facebook that the last couple DOS attack this site experience was mers who had drama they don’t want seen. This site looks like it went down within 4 hours I noticed Voldemort bought likes who only makes drama in this thread. I’m sure a google search from buying likes to a bought DOS attack can’t be far from each other.

3. My Apple account got attack yesterday during the site outage. IP in the email and in the account activity indicates south Florida. Only two mermaids knows my email address. My ex who lives in GA and one Mermaid who happens to live south of here.

4. How does the most drama filled mer in the community not once acknowledged the outage? All my friends said Voldemort is acting quiet about the site and wonder if I knew anything.

There just too many coincidences so I’ll be shocked if it’s not her. As I said, I’m only SPECULATING. I still don’t know how she not blocked/banned from the site.

edit: a little after 1 hour I posted that, Annabelle put me on block. I noticed this because I no longer see none of her post in the mermaid group that sells stuff. Like the water I remain calm and at peace. Just reading stories from the ripples of the stones that other people throw.

I'm guessing if someone issues a hit, it'll hit that instead of the main site. I just got to pay attention to read who providing that so I can message them.

6) Crying "bully" anytime someone holds her accountable for anything. Refusing to be accountable for her own words and choices and blaming others (see the threads she's participated on in here)

Then there's what I suspect:

I suspect she has multiple accounts on here as well considering when there's been drama with her on here, a new member with no posts will suddenly appear to defend her

I personally suspect she was directly involved with the attack on the website and would not be surprised in the least if she tried to paint herself as some hero who figured out who did it. This seems to be her MO. Do the bad thing, then act like you aren't involved and be the hero.

So here's my reply to Anna and Brittany's comments.

First of all, accusing the OP of lying? Where is the lie? She was charged more than the tails were worth. That's not a lie, that's not opinion, that is fact.

Second, seems to me it took her a bit of time to put together the fact she was scammed, a common occurrence. But I mean really, are we going to go down that victim shaming mentality of "why now?" OP JUST HAD SURGERY DUH

Third- if Anna keeps choosing to re-sell other company's products NOT as a branded official reseller, than yes she is responsible for them and not the company. This is basic sales. I sell mermaid linden's monofins. If a customer needs a refund or has issue with quality, it's MY responsibility, and then if I want to follow up with body glove I can. When I sold a monofin and it cracked on first use I refunded the customer and gave them a free replacement. Then it's up to me to follow up with bodyglove to get reimbursed. If Anna doesn't understand this, she needs to stop reselling items.

Fourth- sorry, you don't "accidentally" overcharge someone on shipping by such a significant amount. This is not the first complaint I've seen about her overcharging for shipping. And then you don't accidentally forget you overcharged when you get the money, go to the post office, and it's less. If you can't figure out how to do shipping- pick a flat rate and stick with it.

Fifth- can we just point out that this woman goes around editing everyone else and their writing but puts "advantage" and "unethical" in quotations? How many times can someone say the word absurd?


If anything is disgusting, it's how she keeps gaslighting people who hold her accountable.

I was just sent some messages from people who want to be anon (though I will forward to Iona as she will keep discretion)

Anna is approaching some of my friends in the industry with some made up stuff about things she wasnt around for that happened years ago THAT ARE ALREADY DOCUMENTED HERE WITH PROOF. lol

She's taking a fraction of a true situation and gaslighting it to make it look like it's something else, so on the chance she's messaging any of you here's the deal:

She claiming I labelled someone in the community a pedophile and tried to get them thrown out of Merfest, when in reality, loads of people witnessed some inappropriate behaviour from this person and raised it with the organizer of Merfest 1. Years later when running Mermania, when looking for volunteers it was brought to our attention that this person had a criminal record in their state (this can be googled) and they had made some *concerning* posts on this very forum that you can go look up about their children being taken away from them. Combine that with what I and at least 5 others observed us organizers for mermania had to have a serious talk about risk management and how we would address the situation. IN the end we decided anyone who wanted to volunteer had to have a clear criminal background check and a clear child abuse registry check- which we did for every single volunteer. Context *matters*. Now I can have all the opinions I want about this person and share then in private just as anyone else can do, but I am certainly not kicking them out of a convention calling them a pedophile. LOL no one kicked them out. But uh, nice try Anna trying to dig up something years old to call me a bully when it is my professional responsibility to investigate these matters when they're raised as a concern??? lol

Next, she claims I am lying about my relationship with mermaid Melissa. Again, Anna's be around what, 5 minutes? Melissa and I go back a decade. LOL I still have all the emails. She says I lied about Melissa tagging Linden's tags on her stuff but you can literally google these tags and see for yourself. (and seriously do you really believe Linden would lie?) Anna is approaching some of my friends in the industry with some made up stuff about things she wasnt around for that happened years ago THAT ARE ALREADY DOCUMENTED HERE WITH PROOF. lol

She's taking a fraction of a true situation and gaslighting it to make it look like it's something else, so on the chance she's messaging any of you here's the deal:

She claiming I labelled someone in the community a pedophile and tried to get them thrown out of Merfest, when in reality, loads of people witnessed some inappropriate behaviour from this person and raised it with the organizer of Merfest 1. Years later when running Mermania, when looking for volunteers it was brought to our attention that this person had a criminal record in their state (this can be googled) and they had made some *concerning* posts on this very forum that you can go look up about their children being taken away from them. Combine that with what I and at least 5 others observed us organizers for mermania had to have a serious talk about risk management and how we would address the situation. IN the end we decided anyone who wanted to volunteer had to have a clear criminal background check and a clear child abuse registry check- which we did for every single volunteer. Context *matters*. Now I can have all the opinions I want about this person and share then in private just as anyone else can do, but I am certainly not kicking them out of a convention calling them a pedophile. LOL no one kicked them out. But uh, nice try Anna trying to dig up something years old to call me a bully when it is my professional responsibility to investigate these matters when they're raised as a concern??? lol

Next, she claims I am lying about my relationship with mermaid Melissa. Again, Anna's be around what, 5 minutes? Melissa and I go back a decade. LOL I still have all the emails. She says I lied about Melissa tagging Linden's tags on her stuff but you can literally google these tags and see for yourself. (and seriously do you really believe Linden would lie?) buying fake reviews does not mean that she's behind the attack. It's more likely that Anna has because she is currently being irrevocably outed as a scammer and a bad person in general. People (and hey, look it's not just me! feeling a bit vindicated) are coming forward with Anna's bad behavior and her seemingly Psychotic antics, her "friends" who may or may not be real people harassing folk and telling them to kill themselves. I personally suspect she was directly involved with the attack on the website and would not be surprised in the least if she tried to paint herself as some hero who figured out who did it. This seems to be her MO. Do the bad thing, then act like you aren't involved and be the hero.


That's what happened. Myself and the other admin and mods very much believe it was Anna who had the website attacked. When it was down, she sent us this message on the MerNetwork FB page:

Myself and the other admin and mods all think that this story is ridiculously improbable. Just outrageously farfetched. She in a Starbucks in Seattle (with city a population of over 700,000 people, btw), and overhears some people talking. Those people just so happen to be planning an attack on a site that she is a regular user on? A small site like this one, no less? Then gets their first and last names, and website/company info? Also the suspicious timing of the attack coming after her being outed here.

(I blacked out the names/info, as I don't believe these people had anything to do with the attack on the site. They're probably people who Anna is upset with for one reason or another. No need to have their names up there.)

I took the time to look into and follow up on the posts here and elsewhere, looking into her behaviors. The harassment, scamming (selling broken/unusable items, and extremely overpriced resells), fraudulent fundraising, and other behavior.. well that is not someone we want to have on this forum. She has been banned from this website. Her, and her alternate account (which I merged into her account, per the rules on here). That same alternate account was used to make the post (https://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?15977-FinFolk-Productions-is-a-Hypocrite) about the anon "confession blog" about mermaid tail makers on Tumblr.

I see you're new here, so let me explain :) This is the drama thread, so it's been around for a long time (since 2011). I move posts in here from other threads when they go off topic because of drama. That's why the thread is so long!
Also the topic in particular right now is following a person who harassed a lot of people, and also attacked this site's servers. She's now known for lying and manipulating, so people are rather outraged right now. I've seen the cycle a ton of times though- this may go on for a few days until people get their frustration and outrage out, then it will die down. :)

So here's my reply to Anna and Brittany's comments.

First of all, accusing the OP of lying? Where is the lie? She was charged more than the tails were worth. That's not a lie, that's not opinion, that is fact.

Second, seems to me it took her a bit of time to put together the fact she was scammed, a common occurrence. But I mean really, are we going to go down that victim shaming mentality of "why now?" OP JUST HAD SURGERY DUH

Third- if Anna keeps choosing to re-sell other company's products NOT as a branded official reseller, than yes she is responsible for them and not the company. This is basic sales. I sell mermaid linden's monofins. If a customer needs a refund or has issue with quality, it's MY responsibility, and then if I want to follow up with body glove I can. When I sold a monofin and it cracked on first use I refunded the customer and gave them a free replacement. Then it's up to me to follow up with bodyglove to get reimbursed. If Anna doesn't understand this, she needs to stop reselling items.

Fourth- sorry, you don't "accidentally" overcharge someone on shipping by such a significant amount. This is not the first complaint I've seen about her overcharging for shipping. And then you don't accidentally forget you overcharged when you get the money, go to the post office, and it's less. If you can't figure out how to do shipping- pick a flat rate and stick with it.

Fifth- can we just point out that this woman goes around editing everyone else and their writing but puts "advantage" and "unethical" in quotations? How many times can someone say the word absurd?


If anything is disgusting, it's how she keeps gaslighting people who hold her accountable.

Holy smokes... I had no idea half of this was going on until this morning. Has anyone reported her friend to that group to get her remove? I know saying anything to an Admin to the Mermaid Mania is a waste of time. If they claim victim, the other person gets banned without saying anything. Both Annabella and Athena got me blocked from that group without saying a word, admin of that group confirmed. You were removed before I became one of the admins of the group so I can't comment on what went down there but I can tell you that Anna Browne and several of her friends/fake accounts were removed after some drama went down months ago. We have also instilled a warning system so that people are not removed without discussion first so that doesn't happen again except in extreme cases (i.e. predatory comments on a young mer's post, etc.)

If someone has issues or feels attacked, we do encourage them to contact one of the admins and we look into it carefully before making decisions. For example, when you contacted our head admin today in regards to Athena posting a photo of your tail, we removed the photo.

Again, I'm sorry to hear about your and Athena's ongoing issues and can honestly say I personally don't agree with everything going on.

I had no issue with him until he flipped his story about mermania and started lying about it, and I mean seriously insane lies. He claimed we prevented Naja from sponsoring and I posted all the proof including behind the scenes on the website and messages and emails via a video, and Naja called him out too. After that he blocked me.

That was months ago and I pay no attention to him anymore, I have him blocked so I don't see his stuff. But he apparently just made this video after hearing about this Anna stuff on the forum I guess? (it's not posted anywhere else) and called Alex a cripple, and said he, I and Venessa should be led into a gas chamber.

I'm careful now about what drama I got involved in. With the Anna stuff I felt like I needed to speak up because she was attacking someone I know who is Autistic and I couldn't just be quiet seeing someone get slandered like that. Everything else involving her is really her own undoing.

I just wish people could be a lot less extreme. When you friends fight, you should try to mediate the issue, not take a side and violently attack the other friend.
That is how you lose them.
